    Site issues

    This morning I had issues getting out of bed and walking down the stairs, I'm not as spritely as I used to be, old age I guess.

    Same with this site, it's body (what we call the hosting infrastructure) is getting old and decrepit. We had a hard disk pop (reducing performance, yeah most of the site is still stored on spinning disks) and due to a massive amount of crawler activity (5000-6000 bots constantly, upto 16000 hitting the site hard) something was going to give.

    Bit of bodge work, akin to cracking your spine and ignoring the pain, the site is back up for now.
