Hello guys, this is my first post, so I will just say hello first. I currently have a VW bora V5 but drive my mums V70 2.5 as well, so I am also a volvo driver.:)
I am actually a member of VolvoClub.org. I was recommended this sight by a user from there.
Basically, I asked on volvoclub if there was anyone who lives in or near Aberdeen, who owns an 850R, preferably an 855. I myself am looking at buying an 855R pretty soon, however, I will no doubt have to travel down to England to get one. I was just wondering if anyone near me could let me look about their car, and if they would be so kind, take me out for a drive in it, just to get a feel for it. I would also like to discuss various ownership problems etc.
It would be great to have been in/been driven in an 855R before I go and commit to buying one and find out it's not what I expected.(I don't know what I am expecting though :sorry: )
"Siamblue" on volvoclub mentioned that someone lives in Elgin on this sight. It would be great if you could make some contact.
Thanks in advance folks.
Graeme.

Thanks for the kind welcome. Also, thanks for the quick reply with the info.
Unfortunatly that meet on the 14th is slap bang in the middle of my exam timetable.:grumpy:
Even if it is some T5R's, that would be good too.
I'll keep an eye out though for any meets up in Scotland over the summer. Maybe have even got a volvo myself by then.
Still, if anyone is near me (I am in the centre of Aberdeen) please let me know.
Thank you.

Hi mate, Welcome to the forum....
kdst5 (Norm) is in Elgin and has a yellow 855 T5-R
Craigk is in Perth and has a 854R in Red
Pity you couldnt make the meet as both these cars will be there...
Good luck in your search ;)

Thanks for the welcomes guys and gals.
I'll fire a pm to Norm and see what he is saying. Elgin isn't too far away.
Strange that in the ten years I have lived in Aberdeen I have never seen a yellow T5-R. Seen a very nice green one though.
Thanks again for the welcomes. I'll no doubt stick around and look out for some meets up north once I have a volvo. As said in the other thread about the perth meet, the route up glencoe and oban sounds brilliant. I'm sure there are some stunning views round about there.
Do these meets normally involve "performance" volvos? With some spirited driving by chance?
Thanks again,
Graeme.

Thanks Norm for the kind invite, but these pesky exams happen to be in the way. (How unthoughtfull of the timetable people eh? I could playing with volvos, not doing exams)
Norm, I fired one back to you too, as I'm sure you will see. I'll give you a call pretty son.
Graeme.

Afternoon.
I think Norm mentioned your car to me, but if I recall correctly Norm said it was Auto. If it is manual I may be tempted. :)
Have a few things to fix up on my current car before trying to sell it on though.

Great pic`s mate thanks for putting them up. No worries about giving you a go I may have been worried if you had turned up in a Barry Boy racer but thought you may be a safe bet in a VW bora lol.

Yeh I can imagine you would have been slightly less trusting had I not turned up in an old mans car with cream leather. HA HA.
Flying Banana, You must have some serious welding skills to get the estate looking so real. HA HA.
Norm couldn't see past mine. I managed to fool him into thinking my 1.0 litre corsa was actually a bora. Boy did I get him good.:rotfl:
Flying Banana, i have checked out pm. Gonna have a read through it all and get back to you.:)
ps. Norm, found out what that clunking from the suspension on my car was. Wasn't the spring, it was the bearings at the top mount. Just got someordered today and it was only somehting like 30 quid for the casing and bearings.>
Post 106519 by kdst5 on 2006-05-10 16:03:21
g-wagon thought there was something fishy about that VW lol. Bonus on finding it was the top mount bearing far easier job.
THB you were warned about trying to take them off lol are the knuckles bleeding yet :rotfl:

I'm not attempting the job myself. Lack of tools unfortunatly. Just got my local garage to check it out and they are gonna do the labour.
So no bleeding knuckles for me.:haha: :rotfl:
