Ello folks. I'm toying with the idea of getting a plate for the T5, but need some pointers regarding the law about fiddling with the spacings and fonts.
For example, if I were after a plate to honour gangster rapper Fifty Cent (tongue in cheek here) I might want F10 DYC to read FIDDY C. Is it allowed to modify that 0 using black plate bolts, and stick F10DY together leaving C on the other side?

Yoiu're guaranteed to get a pull and depending on the jobsworthiness of the plod who pulls you , you could get a fine and MOT slip etc, and worse still get pulled again and reported to DVLA get the plate taken from you as you are mis representing it! Fraz13 on here has more details about that LOL!!!!

Uh oh, it's this ole chestnut again:wink:
Despite how pedantic it may seem peeps, there really are some good reasons as to why the plate rules r in place:sorry:
It aint worth the hassle at the end of the day Pzorb:)

Humph, these laws are no fun!
As I'm 'Martin Gibson' (and not Fifty Cent!) I was thinking of G1BBO M
and the closest thing I can find is G13 BOM
Given the first picture, you can see the likeness but without it I'm not sure anyone who didn't know would know.
I'd love P2 ORB but it's on a peugeot 306, and wouldn't be allowed as I'm an N-reg car :(
edit: there are two pictures in this reply in PNG format, so older IE users may not see them. Get firefox! http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Obviously I see the appeal, but if you're gonna be illegal, you might as well just have 'GIBBO' :) regardless of whether you own that plate, lol ;)
I reckon if you just mis-spaced the 'M' on your desired plate you may not attract the cops attention too much but when you start adding bolt heads and trimming letters etc, then you really are asking for it! - chances are you'd still get pulled and a '7 day producer' either way

Do they give producers to anyone over 18?
I read that plate as GIBBON even if it is an M

Producers can be given to anyone driving or riding a vehicle on a road, so 16+
With our security services leaning more and more towards intelligence led policing, gathering information from ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) I can only see people getting more hammered for having dodgy plates.
Its not worth the hassle!

As everyone has said, not worth the pull mate, my aren't legal either, but they are correctly spaced and reflective, so a lot of plod wouldn't raise a eyebrow,
Gary.
