Will an S70 T5 and C70 T5 gearbox fit an 850 T5 ?

97/98 70 series gearbox should fit the 95/96/97 800 series without a problem as long as its a M56 type gearbox

Argh it is the wrong one, it is an M56H but the clutch release is wrong

I have the same box waiting to go in mine. Don't bin it because of the clutch release (external slave on 850, slave built into the release bearing on s70) you should be able to convert it back to external slave fairly easily .

you cant convert ot to external slave as there is no mounting points inside the bell housong for the release bearing arm managed to get an 850 box for £200 delivered from accrington within 12 hours

Maybe not but you could just connect the internal slave/release bearing up to the external slave pipework.
