Hi Folks I have noticed a few sets of Brembo 4 pot calipers on e-bay recently. They are from Fiat Coupes and all relatively cheap. I know the coupes use a 305x28mm disc which is similar to our T5 discs and was wondering if this would be a cheapish upgrade. Anybody know anything about this subject or am I wasting my time thinking about it?? Any opinions would be interesting. Bob

Aything's possible if your prepared to put the time and effort into it. Only way your going to find out for certain is to bite the bullet and buy em.

I would but don't know whether they will be any better than the standard 302mm setup. Doers anybody know how to work out if the 4 pots are suitable, are they ok with the master cylinder.

I would have thought the only problem would be the mounting points. Maybe Brembo can help

Four pot calipers are always going to give better braking effort than the single piston sliding caliper volvo use. They will give a more even braking effort over the whole pad, bearing in mind how big the standard single piston is compared to four little ones. I don't think you'll have any problems with the braking system copnig with it, otherwise they wouldnt market four pot calipers for them in the first place. As Baj says the only problem your going to have is the mounting points.

So you can count the discs out. With regards to the brackets I would personally get a known company to make them that is experienced in these sort of things.

Hi Steve Was thinking about using the usual (Volvo) 302mm brembo plain discs for ease. I know what you mean about using a company that know what they are doing as I would like the bracket to snap when coming off the motorway!

EDIT:
I know what you mean about using a company that know what they are doing as I would NOT like the bracket to snap when coming off the motorway!
:)
