"Severe penalties exist for all road traffic infringements and are enforced. These include imprisonment and a heavy fine for causing death whilst over the alcohol limit or under the influence of drugs and a similar penalty for causing death by dangerous or negligent driving. The French police strictly apply speeding restrictions and drivers exceeding speed limits face heavy on-the-spot fines. Drivers who break French driving laws can also have their driving licences confiscated by French Police; and the driver concerned prevented from continuing to drive the vehicle. This could lead to the vehicle being temporarily impounded if no alternative driver with a valid licence is available." Speed limits m/way 130 km/h (110 when wet) open road 90 km/h town 50 km/h 20k over is 45 euros and 1 point (not sure if the point applies to us YET) 20-30 over is 90 euros, 2pts 30-40 90 euro, 3pts 40-50 90 euro, 4pts and confiscation of licence 50+ is confiscation of licence on the spot for 1 month, 750 euros, 6 pts

And (trust me) they are very very good at hiding in bushes and lasering you. Be careful.

I stayed at camp davey crocket about 12 years ago, and it was bloody marvellous! Although I was a young whipper-snapper then, the whole 'theme' of the place kept us entertained and happy! :)

I went 2 years ago.... Loved it... but I'm a big kid anyway..... I didn't find the prices in the disney Village over the top either which was a bonus. Just avoid Planet Hollywood and other mainstream restaurants. We went to a 60's "Happy Day's / Grease" Style Restaurant with waiters and waitresses on roller skates. Three of us - Burgers, Drinks and Puddings £27.00......(35euros..ish)

Went to france and euro disney last year, dover to calais and drove through paris. Whilst driving in france i saw about as many police and as you do on uk motorways. The only time we saw any police was around the city of paris and only 1 speed camera over the 200 mile drive to paris. the majority of the trip is on toll roads, these have the facility to catch you speeding. You collect your ticket when you enter the road, then there is a mad scramble to get in to your lane when you set off again and if you reach the exit booth before you should have by traveling above the speedlimit, then they fine you on the spot. We found it best to stick to the speedlimit with both hands on the wheel and to be very very alert around the city as people on bikes think they own the road. People will under cut, over take you when you are in the fast lane, squeezing between you and the crash barrier. Sudenly cut in front across 3 lanes and shoot up the slip road. Think of the biggest prick you have ever seen on the M'way and thats about 50% of the motorist you will meet at rush hour. Be prepared for people pushing in on and off the road, the french don't queue, and sneer at you if you say anything. Other than that, i would go and drive in france again. bon voyage!

Cameras have increased 50% in the last year alone, but they probably won't bother with you if you have UK plates (for now, at least). The mobile units are the problem - they are quite frequent now. I see at least two units every time I drive between Calais and the south.

i was driving through france a few years back, and they were pulling people over and smashing up their radar detectors at the roadside. (they had a big pile there) ouch

If you are caught speeding in lancashire (blackburn CTO) and many others are following, you have to pay a £10 admin fee to get your photos. So now you either say "ok, £60 and 3pts please" or "it wasn't me", pay £10 to see if was you and then £60 and 3pts. Money grabbing B'stards. Next it will be, "Well, because you where speeding you now owe us £35 in overtime costs, £5 fuel surcharge to get the camera van to the spot, £10 admin fee for us to write to you and a £60 fine with 3pts.
