Fitted a mesh grill a while back now, looks good and no probs with it until yesterday. Pulled the bonnet release in the car, bonnet pops up as usual. Gave the catch a tug and lo and behold it's come off in me hand guvnor. Bit of a panic..... Got the bonnet open with a wire coathanger. Very simple, just through the mesh and hook behind the bonnet catch. Which had broken at the end, ie where the new "arm" is mounted. Where the old lever was pivoted. Had to take the catch mechanism off and now waiting to purchase new part. (Not happy running with no safety catch as bonnet flew up in past car and I hit oncoming car head on - not pretty.)

Easy answer to your concern mate dont have a head on crash until you have the safety catch!
