Hi y'all. Thought i'd just say hello. I bought my first volvo recently (01/08/06) and its a 850 T5. It is dark green, saloon, Auto with 84k miles and FSH, overall very good nick, last owner 9 years. Got all this for £1350 which (at least) I thought was alright. Im 24 and from Glasgow, but I quite like the 850 regardless of what my mates say. Its a wee bit different, discrete, comfy and, of course, fast. Its bloody thirsty though! When I wash my car next Ill add some photos.

Although you will get used to all those things, they will never cease to amaze you when you are playing and stomping all over your mates Clio's, 207's and Scoobies. Enjoy your toy.

Mileage and fuel consumption are popular topics. Despite the mid 20s mpg I really hope you enjoy the ride! A very warm Wobbly welcome!

Thanks for the welcoming.... welcome! Going to the fuel consumption I have to admit it is not that bad. I mean a couple of cars ago I had a 1999 Nissan Primera GT SE (woohoo lol). It was a lovely thing to drive in all honesty, the handling was unbelievable. Strut brace as standard - on a Primera. But its trip computer says I averaged about 27/28 mpg. The T5 is about, what, 22/23mpg but then its loads more powerful (150bhp v 225bhp) and weighs about double the Primera!! I think my initial worry was how often I have been visiting the petrol stations. But having seen over 1000 miles in the last week, perhaps I can see why. I didnt realise I had driven so much, just looked earlier on tonight. I need to STOP driving for fun, coz not one of those miles was necessary.
