Dump Valve - Bailey DV26

Hey, Folks Fitted a Bailey dump valve to the C70 (Thanks for all the help & advice Paul ;) ). Great wee toy. You can hear it quite clearly, although the standard version is still fitted, so I'm lead to believe that it will get louder once I've blanked the standard valve off with a blanking plate. Image It's not improved the performance, speed, acceleration or smooth idle of my engine. What it does is add a shiney piece of chrome to my engine bay and puts a smile on my face everytime I floor it and then change gear. I love it :B_thumb:
Can i ask a stupid question folks. Why would a DV not work on Bubba's car???
Cos it is a ME-7 i have, this type of T5 knwn not to like amospheric dump valves. Hence dnt get any noise at all From what ave read they can cause problems with MAF

Hi Dac, got your e-mail will cul8r, fraz, I promise I will have an answer for you tomorrow

Post 146123 by smithson007 on 2006-09-26 21:30:49

Ah right i see thanks. Thats maybe why i had problems getting one to work on my 854 T5 that i had.
Ah right i see thanks. Thats maybe why i had problems getting one to work on my 854 T5 that i had.
Na i doubt it would have anything to do with it being a ME-7, as far as am aware thesse engines were only out on 70 series onwards

Post 146129 by fraz13 on 2006-09-26 21:37:11

smithson you need a twin piston DV for a Volvo, Maybe you had a single piston which would have caused a serious air leak meaning your car would run like a dog or cut out.... All twin piston DV's should work no probs in all 850's The newer ME7 engines (99>) are more sensitive to change and when it dumps into the atmosphere and not through the system it "can" cause the management light to come on and the car "might" run rougher Cheers Paul ;)

So the ME7 engines can't take a DV and are prone to having the ETM knackering up? is there any advantage over the pre-ME7 engines in that case?
