In honour of the new section what have we all got stashed away in the volvos? Heres my little effort,no flash amps or speakers but im happy enough with the sound as it is. Top unit is an 80 gig hard drice mp3 player and the bottom unit acts as am amp,radio and cd player Pictures would be good so we can all see whats happening
i like the set up
Upper din slot is empty, gauges will be fitted whenever, lower din slot has a crap Sony headunit which i cant figure out how to switch it on lol (mine is in for repair again), and then standard speakers in the dash and doors. The D-pillars have been taken out as they are next to useless anyway. Im also thinking of taking the standard speakers out and selling them.

Mine is a Volvo 900 head unit, with the Dynaudio Premium sound system, with a 2005 Volvo bass bin that fits in the wheel, though quite how i wire the bass bin in remains to be seen at the moment......currently its sitting in the garage awaiting me to do some dodgy wiring to the volvo amps under the seat....

At the moment, Pioneer AVH-P7500 DVD headunit 4 Infinity 6.5inch Components run by a 640watt Kenny amp 2 DB Audio Raptor 12's run off a 1000watt Digital Kenny amp 130db in all
Alpine head unit and 6 disc multi changer, I'm that interested I can't even remember what model it is.....Plays the music well though.

Got these in the double din.
At the moment i have a JVCAVX1 in mine as source running stock speakers, however i may well be doing something with more kit - mulletboy2 knows who i am ;)

Kenny CD/mp3 headunit and ipod controller - no internal amps in use, ipod concealed, 2x phoenix gold amps concealed, Pioneer boxed 12" sub, cheap (and a bit nasty) 5 1/4 inch JBL components in stock locations. Want to build some half decent door cards for some bigger drivers and build a slot ported box built to.... to many things, too little time!
A radio that came with it, plays Talk Sport and apparently Cassette Tapes. There's a box in the back that CD's go in I believe but I never use it. There are speakers in various places in the car but I don't know what they are or how many.
touchscreen dvd/tv/freeview double din unit, satnav linked up to the video input, ipod in aux, vibe front top components, blaupunkt lower front components, blaupunkt rear components, pro-sound 12" DATA sub in sealed enclosure, jbl GTO touring 750 6-channel amp powering components, extreme 600 monoblock powering sub. All wired in OFC cable, vibe rca's and vibe .8AWG wiring kit. Xbox 360 going in at some point soon! just need a bigger sub amp (anything running at 500w rms, max peak of about 1200w. if anyone has an amp lying around pm me!) Think thats about it. for now!

Hi 850 T5 Newbie here. I'm gonna rip out the 801 premiun sound tape thing, who listens to tapes now? No body that's who! Got a Sony CDX6500 CD/DAB Tuner and double din conversion kit. This is my job at the weekend. Is it easy to fit a single din and the cubby hole after the OE Cassette is removed? I am hoping it will just be plug and play using the ISO connectors. Seen some nice ICE on this thread. Lee

lol, no lads, nothing more to show really. I haven't been procrastinating too much, but managed to get my hands on the prototype 5's, and got the front end installed, and since then I've been playing around with getting the PC working (new, 12V power supply), and playing with the RTA setup. I'm ripping the front end out again today and starting it again, as I'm not 100% happy with it, but it wasn't sounding half bad:
The boot install seems to get messier and messier, and once I go for the 18" sub and whatever amp, I'm probably going to have to re-think the amp rack, power distribution and so on, so it may be a complete rebuild.. but I need the larger sub to hit the numbers in competition (even Sound Quality competition has minimum SPL figures you have to hit, and the Ovlov really isn't conducive to hitting them, hence the need for silly sized subs).
It's all a bit of a hack at the moment, but I'm loving the sound, so it's hard to find motivation to change it all :lol: I'm waiting on the seller re: the sub, then I've gotta find cash for the new amp that'll be needed and so on.
As in the pic ive built a 7" widescreen into the air vent :) Full carpc running from the boot. Satnva 10000+ mp3s dvd video games wireless internet usb ports built into dash All runs through the stock Volvo ICE setup. Sounds lurrvly
its a modest system. runs dvd sat nav with traffic system for rerouting, 12disc cd changer and digital amp/controller. plans for a boot build and a couple of subs on going when funds allow and dvd player to keep little one amused on the trips up to scotland to see my parents and family. oh and will be filling other din hole with guages at some point or having them run through the screen and have a storage pod.....unless anyone has a double din alpine screen they want to swap for a flip out???

my system is not in yet but i have a 7 inch flip out dvd/tv/bluetooth mobile/radio etc but i am also fitting 2 headrest screens flip down monitor for rear and freeview system
Still running standard CD stereo, fusion 3 ways in the front, standard in the back, VIBE 600watt amp running 2 fusion 12inch subs in the boot,love my music:D

Ive got a kenwood flip out touch screen in my other car, was tempted to move it over.....think the reception is more to where the radio aerial is in the screen!same as fords, some after market stereos aint strong enough!
Sony BT3600U , standard speakers , and Pioneer spare wheel active sub, sounds fairly good and was fairly cheap to install. Not earth shattering Bass, but I keep all boot space, the space saver wheel and the 7 seats.....not bad
I have alpine speakers all round, and had a 3000w 12" sub with a matched 3000w class D digital monoblock amp, but I've took that out to go into the Zed's bootbuild.... With a Rockford Fosgate competition head unit.... crisp, clear, and unbelievably bassy with the sub in, a bit tinny now it's gone, but I'm sure I'll get used to it, the sub weighed almost 40kg in the box, so I'm gonna be saving some fuel with it gone...
kenwood double din head unit, ground zero sub, amp and powercap, all other speakers still standard but not for long and will be adding another 6 speakers around the car.

Viking, that setup look fantastic. I have always been a fan of the double Din Fill. This is what was in my previous 1998 V70 T5 bear in mind it was fitted to my K reg 850 in 1997, then to the 850 T5 in 1999 then to the V70 T5 in 2000, and it was sold last year with the same setup fitted, so 9 years old when I had it. Then someone will recognise this which was in the boot. Kenwood KRC 677 head unit Kenwood KMD D400 slave unit mini disc changer 10 disc changer under the passenger seat Switch box in the boot under the left floor panel phono's going from switch box to the front centre console, for aux audio device Boot, thanks to Duane Hid Vibe VP4 amp and 2 Vibe 15inch subs, they were awsome, ok not neat but they were removeable with the Vibe wire plug. I miss her dearly, thanks Duane for the equipment and for me to set this up. The mileage was about 1k before she moved on. Roy
