Just got a quote for a V70 T5 y plate from More Than and they said £387.63 a year fully comp. They quoted the engine size as 2319cc,my question is ,Is this the right engine size for a P2 V70 T5.:help:
Thanks in advance.

I think thats right. They are known as 2.3ltr.
Get back onto them and squeeze them as they are not consistant. Tell them they quoted differently on the phone. They have a huge amount to play with. you have got nowt to loose. Also pop in the phrase "not competitive quote" and try to get it down further.

Cheers guys, the quote is good but dealing with over seas call centres is not,i think the people working there must have a card they read off plus i've got a cold and am not easy to understand,if you say somthing they dont understand you go round in circles,a much better quote than volvo owners insurance though!.they wanted over £500.

PRUDENTIAL (& if you have got a garage tell them the car is going to be normally in it)

I pay just under £300 now for my T5 and i asked the RAC and age of vehicle and price would have no efect on my premiuim ????

Confused.com is OK but you need to copare like with like. Their system does not do that. The cheapest quote from them, when I added in the extra bits from my existing company, came out considerably more expensive. Check excesses, foreign travel cover, replacement car in event of accident etc. Very surprising when all the extra £15-£20 are added on to include these.

I work in insurance, loosely, I run a system that collects data for the actuaries.
Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury's are all selling polices at cost, plus 3%-5% administration costs, and they're using RBS and NU to underwrite their policies. If you manage to find insurance cheaper, it'll simply be because the policy you're being offered is not of the same quality; there'll be a higher excess, no legal expenses cover etc, and that's before you actually try and make a claim.
People moan about NU all day long but few people realise they make a loss of around £100m per annum on motor insurance, it's nothing more than a route to market.
The only people that make money from insurance are brokers, and sites like www.cheapinsurance.com, www.elephant.com, etc, etc are just that, brokers.

I was insured with Admiral (elephant.co.uk). I was about to renew (quoted £454 for a standard T5, and that's with a £350 excess), and when I told them about the impending brakes/suspension/RICA upgrade, they quoted me £750 for the 280hp, and wouldn't quote me for the 310!
Now, I'm in a good postcode, 36 yrs old, full IAM member (passed the advanced bike test), 10 year no claims. To say I was gobsmacked is an understatement.
Adrian Flux (0800 083 8833) quoted me £538 for the whole thing, and didn't even ask how much the Eibachs lowered the car by. That policy includes extras like £400 audio cover (at least it would if the car wasn't convertible (sigh)), £50,000 legal assistance and a courtesy car. Excess is £300. Now that's much more reasonable.
