Hi, Back again since my history was amongst those wiped from the worldwide web,and since I'm getting my V70 back soon I'll need the knowledge of the other members here to put it back together. To bring you all up to date I have an ex-plod V70(99 T) from an armed response unit(so armoured doors/screen) and the vehicle had running issues so at great expense I had the engine rebuilt and sadly the monkey who did the work failed to clean the block thoroughly and combined with the blast cleaning he did it ended up full of media which when run up collected in the oil and locked the valves open:confused:. Upshot was my new components were pretty much kaput! Whilst this was being messed about I bought another ex-plod V70 for regular use but this was sadly totalled in an accident. So logically I arranged for the engine from the write off to be fitted to the non- runner. Since I was struggling for time I was getting a mate to do this for me, which over a few months he did! However 2 years has passed and it's in, it runs but overheats making me wonder if after the shunt the engine ran on after the coolant was lost and has k-nackered the head(plausible - might I get away with skimming the head?). So now the time has come to bring it home, and I've still got no time(3 other major projects ongoing) but could do to get another estate on the road and this fits the bill.So I'm hunting for a B5234T engine probably(pending head issues above!) or perhaps sell it complete as a track style project with the spare engine and transmission then buy a complete 850 that's running. Mojo loss drifts in and out everyday. If its the head I'll do the work, otherwise I'm tempted to sell...

Blimey! Your not having much luck are you! Still onwards and upwards. Might be worth getting in contact with NADS (member on here) who breaks T5's for a replacement engine x

welcome back mate, firstly check the thermostat valve is working as you didn't mention white smoke from the exhaust or water in the oil. Just a thought.
