Welcome :) In terms of faults, check for oil leaks, the ABS light, and a smokey turbo! x

With 2k you'll get a very nice 850 T5 and possible a pretty good R at the moment. V70 T5 there should also be a good choice about so with abudget like that its down to preference. Faults are as moppy says, also another popular one is lift the dip stick up when idling and check for smoke puffing out. this suggests the pcv is fairly blocked and needing cahnge, and if left can leas to rear main oil seal failure. Otherwise just usual used car checks, good luck with the search and welcome to the forum :D Dave

I know these cars aren't fetching a great deal at the moment, but each time I look at mine advertised for £1800 I can't believe it's not sold !!! I was originally offered £2100 by a fellow forum member and after meeting him half way to view the car, he definately wanted it. When it came to travelling again to pay & collect, he wasn't prepared to pay for a £45 train ticket....I couldn't believe it !!! Then...2 weeks ago I listed it on ebay which brought £1800, the winning bidder contacted me the next day & told me he didn't have the funds !! Only yesterday I spoke to him & he says he still wants the car but it was going to be a "short while" (6 weeks) before he had the £1800 !! So there we have it !! £1800 still sounds too cheap for these cars. Steve

Post 170190 by stephenevans99 on 2008-07-27 19:42:21

It averages about 26-28 mpg although it will return 32 mpg if you stick to a mind-numbing 56 mph !!
