Thanks for the welcome guys, just a quick question. I have a 1995 T5 2.3 which has been remapped i just bought it. Can someone tell me roughly what top speed it would be and would it be quicker than a standard 4wd imprezza 2litre. Forgot to say it's a saloon.

presuming classic shape. they, if standard came with 276bhp iirc. if your car has been remapped and been maintained it'll have about 260 on for example, a dyno dynamics rolling road.
he'll most likely take you. rape you(and me) on the launch. your best best would be to start from 60mph and see, you won't have no traction issues, it'll probably be quite close from there.
they are very quick up to 100, close ratios help, who knows after that.
has he had the 112mph limit taken off?

to be fair you have a lot of transmission losses going through the 4WD system.. Subaru's also don't like hard launches.. not sure who would win from a remapped T5 and a subaru though.. so many variables..

true about the losses, didnt think of that, was thinking and typing at the same time.
they are still very very quick below 100mph. only weigh about 1235kg and short ratio gearbox.
who knows, it would be fun finding out whatever.
one thing though, if its an extended high speed run, i'd put money on the volvo surviving longer then the impreza!

Oh dear, I think i am getting into too many technical issues here. My friend with the sti and I are both oil workers with too much money on our hands so we both bought fast cars he wanted the imprezza and i was always into T5's so we just wondered whose was quickest. suppose i will just have to find out on a quiet bit of motorway. Thanks anyway guys for all the info.

I would agree with that.. i'm pretty sure I heard that there is a design flaw in one of their engines which causes cylinder failure when run at high speed for extended periods.. something to do with the heat from the turbo affecting one of the cylinders. but I can't remember the details! lol!!
I agree that they're far from slow cars as well though.. see a nice one tonight as it happens when I was out.. it was an WRX Type-RA.. very nice and pretty rare..

Very nice job TC, now that's a smart car!

I would say there about the same, Ive had a few close encouters and if the road conditions are good not a problem and above 100 mph the scubie would be eating dust!
