Hi, I'm Stuart, currently a Student in Coventry/Resident of Norfolk/Cambridgeshire when I'm at home. Up until a few weeks ago I drove this... Image However a slight distraction whilst driving and a hump back bridge made very short work of said car. Insurance sorting and car shopping later, and I am now driving this... And after very few hours of ownership and driving, I can confidently say I love it. Love the fact that it's got the slightly newer engine as well. No more dizzy :) Although it's already broken, the drivers side window switches shorted and produced smoke. So I'm now on the look out for a new switch module.

The old car and the new one are nice, do you notice much diffrence with the handling between the 2?

Haven't really driven the c70 enough as yet to pass comment. Seems to hold the road pretty damn well though. Feels really nice to drive, and the Engine doesn't seem strangled below 1.7k RPM like the older 20v did. Will up date after my drive to Coventry and back mid week, that'll be a good 200 miles for me to form some opinions.

cool, is it the T5?

Post 201495 by 70fan on 2008-12-15 10:03:27

No just the 2.4 20V Until I finish uni and stop being a sponge on society I can't really justify the fuel / service costs of keeping a T5 on the road. Someday...

Thanks for the welcomes :) Visited Marshall Volvo in Peterborough today. Picked up a new drivers door window and door lock panel dealy (After mine gave up in a puff of smoke), £92. Also booked her in for Friday so that they can see why the SRS light is staying on.

Rang up Parts again today to find out about replacing the centre dolby speaker as it's blown. £130 odd for one speaker?!! Going to go talk to the boys at Halfords and ICE direct, see if they can do anything else to fit instead.

*grumbles* Some idiot (me) left my interior light on. *Le sigh* Battery died, do I have my radio code? Yeah right. Do Volvo have my radio code... uh nope. Found code using serial and model number... will that work? Nope! Aghhh! So faced with minimal choices, I am having to order a cable to attempt to fit my Sony head unit from the last car... fun fun fun. There goes being able to use the dolby set up then :(

With the ME7 engine and VVT- thats why it feels abit gruntier at really low revs- especially being the 20v, which only tend to breath well at higher engine speeds. Tim...

Belated reply, i kind of dropped off of the map for the last year for various reasons. I'm currently residing in Coundon when i'm in Coventry. and Having owned the C70 for just over a year now, i can say that i much prefer driving it to the V70, i can't put my finger on why lol, i just do. Maybe it's the change in wheel/tyre size, who knows, it's just so nice. My only grumbles are i sometimes miss the practicality of the V, and i really wish i could do something about the road noise. Does anyone know if replacing the door rubbers/seals would help that at all? or any other trick? I'm currently getting it ready for it's MOT, just changed all the bulbs, as i was running odd ones either side (and i don't like that) new wipers (fitted retro fit aero wipers), and replaced the headlamp glass. The wipers are awesome :) My only issue has been trying to find a Lambda sensor at the moment. my best friend works the parts desk at the local halfords, and I think he now hates me, as he's been going round in circles with it. We finally found out that it needs to be a Denso one, so I've dropped Rufe a PM lol :) (which is probably what I should have done first haha) Anyway, I hope you are all well, and i shall try and be on here a little more, not that i'm back on the map.

So it has been an even longer period of absence. I was only just getting to know the place, then life decided I had other things to be doing. But hey I'm back and once more I have news of changes. The C70 I loved and cared for above, decided that it did not like its steering rack, and ended it's life shortly after looking like the attached picture. So being a fan of the brand I decided to plump up a bit more cash and go for something newer. Really enjoying V50 ownership. Unfortunately, I hit a rather large pothole recently. This damaged two of my wheels, so making the best of a bad situation it is now sporting some rather nice R replicas. Just need to spread some jam on the tyres and invite the arches down for tea now :) In non-car related news, I finished being a sponge on society. I am now living back in the fens and enjoying for foray into the motor industry.

So it would appear that this thread has a reoccurring pattern; I've been away driving work cars for a while, but a change in circumstances has seen me come running back. So bigger and better than ever, I am back in this beast Image She's got some issues that I'm probably going to need a hand getting to the bottom of, but I'm very happy with her and happy to be back. Hoping there's still some localish meets going on, as would enjoy meeting up with some of you lot again :)
