Good evening all.
I am toying with the idea of buying a GPS detector like a Road Angel but not too sure which make is the best. Been looking about at a couple like the Snooper Neo S6, Origin B2 and the Angel.
Does anybody have any of the above or others and could let me know what you think of them, opinions on what is the best would be appreciated.
Bob

As it relies on updates i would say 99% yes, the only issue you have as you do with all of them is the mobile vans, totally undetectable.

Guys care to enlighten us how it has saved you? Most people don't have a radar detector and have clean licences,
Unless you mean being in a different County you don't know where the cams are ?

99% of the time my radar detector never gets used as I know the roads and most of my travelling is just to work.
The things mine is handy for is when I travel to areas I dont know, I dont care what the goverment say about making gatso's visible theirs at least 3 in the North East that you dont see until your past them, due to conveniently over growing hedges and trees.
So in areas I dont know its handy for it to point out gatso's and specs systems, I just thought it was some cctv system until it pointed them out, has it saved my license and points who knows, but its handy to have in those situations.
It also tells me what road im on and the speed limit on that road which is espcially helpfull when approaching camera's as occasionally forget what speed was on the sign that passed 10minutes ago.

I had a road angel for 6 months but have sold it now.
Good points:
1. beeps and flashes at you when you approach a speed camera in it's database.
2. looks nice
3. Gives you GPS capability if you connect it to your iPAQ etc
Bad points:
1. Very expensive - they go for near £300 second hand
2. Need to pay a subscription to download the data base
3. Sometimes it can take ages to get a lock on the satellites
What I have done is replace my road angel with a GPS reciever (Globalsat BT338) and I use www.pocketgps.co.uk database of speed cameras (free) on my iPAQ with TomTom to shout at me and flash at me when I approach one. Having used both the RA database and the pocketgps database I find the pocketgps one to be better.
My new GPS locks on much quicker (less than 1 minute, RA sometimes took 15 mins).
It means you have to buy a PDA as well though (another toy!!) which gives you GPS navigation capabilities.
