As most of us are driving high mileage motors I thought it an idea to list what should be considered as the basic tune up for any car prior to any performance modifications are carried out.
But this list can also be used as a reference for most poor running problems, i.e. Rough Idle, Surging, Hanging Revs etc.
1) Distributor Car + Rotor Arm (Replace)
2) Spark Plugs (Check / Replace)
3) Ignition Leads (Check / Replace)
4) Engine Oil + Filters (Replace)
5) Gear Box Oil Inc Auto (Flush & Replace)
6) Air filter (Clean / Replace)
7) Engine Coolant (Replace)
8) Vac Hoses (Check / Replace)
9) 02 Sensors (Check / Replace)
10) Fuel System + Injectors (Fuel System Cleaner)
11) Intercooler and Piping (Check / Clean / Replace)

Are the parts for the stage 0 tune up just standard bits from the local motor shop or would you reccomend using volvo approved parts ? what make of plugs and so on.
any info would be great.
