Hi all, Just took the plunge yesterday & acquired an "N" reg T5 estate. I've already got a gutless but luvverly 850GLT & wanted the same car but with wings. I'll no doubt rear my ugly head from time-to-time (eh, Justin lol) and ask all the damn-fool questions which there'll be about 47 previous items on, but be gentle. :sheep: Cheers.

its either that of the T-5, take your pick? (you could always remove a spark plug & run it on 4 cyclinders to make her a bit slower/safer)
Hello doug and :welcome: - what took you so long to decide to buy the real deal. Only joking - I am also happy to help with any questions you might have.
Hi Dave, I've no idea why. Maybe because I've been extremely happy with my 10 Trabants (yes, really... :cuckoo: ) and led a sheltered life. Who knows. All I know is I was instantly converted to Lovlovs when I got the GLT estate a few months back, and got fed up hearing about Justin's exploits (well, his car ones anyway). Here are a few things I'll throw at you & everyone else. The car has a few niggles, some of which I was told about about, some of which I wasn't. :mad111: :- 1. The AirCon doesn't operate at all (no pump activation with the switch). I don't yet know if it's empty & therefore causing it not to operate, or whether it's simply dead. 2. The ABS/Tracs lights are on most of the time. When they're off, these items work, otherwise they don't. 3. The CruiseCon is dead, with or without the ABS/Tracs lights on. 4. Driver's heated seat doesn't work. I'm taking it to the main dealer on Tuesday for a Diag, plus they've recalled it for the driver's heated seat! Connectors apparently, but mine look ok. We'll see though. They also reckon it'll be pedal sensors with the Cruise, the Actuator (?) with the AirCon & therefore not economic to repair, and probably the main ABS unit is shot even although their machine may say "rear sensor". :shifty: Any comments? I'm not TOO bothered about the A/C but I am about the ABS & Cruise. .

Post 2324 by Wobbly Dave on 2004-11-21 02:25:02

I can fix your ABS ECU for the fraction of the cost of a new one. Email me if you want to know more. No fix no fee!

Post 2325 by Wobbly Dave on 2004-11-21 02:26:27

I can also look into fixing your seat (requires a visit from me). Perhaps I can kill both birds with one stone.
I can also look into fixing your seat (requires a visit from me). Perhaps I can kill both birds with one stone.
Cheers on both fronts. Let me see what the dealer does with the recall fiddling & the diagnosis. :) .
