You tit, much better than the football

Post 236914 by neevo on 2009-06-21 21:09:17

Yep Wait for another Stig to be revealed next week, esp after Jezza's parting words. That Jag was/is gorgeous, I would give Tomcat's right nut for that car.

Post 236915 by Tomcat on 2009-06-21 21:09:39

Ahhhhhhhh....finally got my fix...I sooo feel like a junkie, lol. Damn that Ferrari was nice. Think I'd also give my right nut, but for the Ferrari, not the Jag.
Ahhhhhhhh....finally got my fix...I sooo feel like a junkie, lol. Damn that Ferrari was nice.
Did they give a reason why Ferrari wont let the owners take it home? It sort of ruins ownership, ifI had one I'd be out in the garage sleeping with it at night
Did they give a reason why Ferrari wont let the owners take it home? It sort of ruins ownership, ifI had one I'd be out in the garage sleeping with it at night
Probably too dangerous for road use, especially putting in a lap time like that, probably have too many dead rich people. See the suspension bouncing? Worse than a chavved up saxo!

Post 236920 by AlanG on 2009-06-21 21:13:24

It's always been Schumacher. Parting comments are a rouse in my opinion. Who else can make all these different makes and models dance? Certainly not Damon Hill. What does everyone else think?

Post 236921 by Dangerous Dave on 2009-06-21 21:15:34
esp after Jezza's parting words.
I think that was brilliant, after the farce of the Stig revealing and Schumacher interview, keep em on their toes!
It's always been Schumacher. Parting comments are a rouse in my opinion. Who else can make all these different makes and models dance? Certainly not Damon Hill. What does everyone else think?
Dont be silly mate, they couldn't afford for Schumacher to be on every programme. Anyway, the Stig was outed as Ben Collins, theres even video footage of his voice on youtube to compare!

Post 236924 by bailes1992 on 2009-06-21 21:19:21

Theres more than one stig. The only reason it was Micheal tonight as the Ferrari belonged to him and nobody else can drive it :)

Post 236925 by Tomcat on 2009-06-21 21:19:28

I didn't think for a minute that they'd give up the identity of the Stig and just leave it at that, I actualy thought that as the interview ended the real stig would walk in a kick off.
I think that was brilliant, after the farce of the Stig revealing and Schumacher interview, keep em on their toes!
How long has there been a white Stig? Surely far longer than MS has been retired hence he couldnt have been the Stig throughout that period? How cr*p is my spellchecker? It thinks Stig is a typo (or it did until I added it to the dictionary!) Anyone notice it's James May night? Oz & Capt Slow do booze TG Jimbo gets very very high (up)

If they're not gonna let the owners drive them off track, they're deffo not gonna let the TG team drive it! In fact here's him drivin it.... [YT]tOsaOWotTd4[/YT]

Keepin' my opinion and sayin; no more. Who is this Ben guy?

Post 236966 by volvoturboman on 2009-06-21 22:31:54

I seen the thread on here last week saying it was Schumacher and thought no chance. He made millions racing, still makes millions in advertising so can't see te BBC paying millions. A mate of mine drives for Cranleigh haulage and its right next door to Top gear as I'm sure some of you may know. Ben Collins has been seen more than once through the fence, so I'm sticking with him. As for the ferrari, nice but not nice enough to pay a million and not actually get it. Super show though.

Post 236967 by AlanG on 2009-06-21 22:36:56

Not so arrogant as to argue as it was only my humble opinion. Great show without a doubt. Laugh a minute. They just don't last long enough!!!

Post 236969 by p fandango on 2009-06-21 22:41:00

must admit i missed the bit about not letting owners take the FXX's home, wierd how they'll quite happy to hand over second-hand F1 cars they not a modified Enzo (or is it because so many Enzo's have been crashed!!!) i'm not really keen on the race style challenges as they are obviously set-up & much prefer them spending a day in the studio/track for the programme, looks like they've got some interesting stuff coming up (roll on the ice racing)

Post 236970 by cameron on 2009-06-21 22:42:33

That Ferrari as awesome as it was isnt allowed on the lap time board :grumpy: What happened to the sleeping policeman rule, if it cant go over a sleeping policeman its not allowed on the board  Surely if it can only be driven on the track and not allowed to be driven on the public roads then that rules it out of the equation ?
Not so arrogant as to argue as it was only my humble opinion. Great show without a doubt. Laugh a minute. They just don't last long enough!!!
LOL, I grew up topgear and I've been trying to get tickets for over 4 years. My mate who works next door even tried but no good. He does however infrm me of alot of what he sees. Apparently there was quite a dispute from the people who live near a few years ago regarding the noise of the cars. The guy who owns the land soon ended it. Its originally an airfield as you's know so the guy hired a jet for the day and flew it continuously in and out of what we would know as the test track. Some usless info for you's lol. :rice:

It's filmed in Eire? Or was this before you moved and speaking of a friend from your last abode?

Post 237079 by volvoturboman on 2009-06-22 01:05:43

No can't remember exactly what you call the place its filmed but its not to far from Surrey, redding, Farnborough. Out that way somewhere lol. He works next door, well he's a lorry driver for cranleigh.

Good man thats exactly where it is. My ate works next door and for the life of me I couldn't remember what the address was. Wasn't a million miles away, last time I was there I left from my mates house in Surrey and it wasn't to far.

Post 237107 by BigV on 2009-06-22 05:42:34

I can't believe anyone still watches this scripted ****e. I can't get through more than 5 mins before I have to turn off. total tosh
Quite right mate, this car CANNOT go onto the lap board, as its not a production car, never mind the sleeping policeman thingy. I shall write to my MP ;) Still very scripted i agree, and the races are a bit pointless aswell. I see SOOO many new cars on the road thesee days and TG never seem to show them. We now need a car show like the OLD Top Gear, where they used to test drive and tell you about the "normal" cars be produced. 5th Gear is more my cup of tea these days, but I watch TG for a laugh.

Post 237141 by Rufe on 2009-06-22 12:09:50

didn't for one second think the stig was schuey, i said to the misses straight away that he's only there to drive the borrowed ferrari it was pretty obvious really. hate to say it but not the best of starts to a series in my opinion, that race was just pointless i felt. a 1949 car, bike and a steam train? erm wtf? lol Simon

Post 237143 by KPB on 2009-06-22 12:18:26
5th Gear is more my cup of tea these days, but I watch TG for a laugh.
I think TG went off the boil about 2 years ago - but I still sit there each week looking forward to the show (and then try and ignore the fact that my missus is right...its just repetitive and ego-based). Occasionally they do something entertaining - like the USA road trip - but on the whole its too forced and scripted. The words 'flogging' and 'dead horse' spring to mind...even James May seems to be relying on his 'oh....c--k' comment too much these days. Still, its better than Eastenders. Fifth Gear is better at presenting motoring issues and more realistic road tests, but crippled by the smugness of its presenters. Its ironic that the two most natural people on it are the drivers (Needell and Plato) rather than the TV professionals and journos. Any nominations for the best TG moment in the last 5 years? Mine was May falling down the embankment in the rain on the Isle of Mann.
Any nominations for the best TG moment in the last 5 years? Mine was May falling down the embankment in the rain on the Isle of Mann.
Mine was the 'buy a coupe for under £1000' challenge. Brilliant fun and great interaction between them all.

Post 237151 by 850 2.5 10v on 2009-06-22 13:26:10

Is it just me or has Top Gear just gone off the boil? Last nights programme was dull in a 'samey programme' kind of way. - 3 presenters racing each other....again! Schumacher interview was plain odd and trying to make him out to be the Stig was also weird - Schumacher looked SO uncomfortable. Why didn't they get him to do a lap in the Liana like all the other celebs? Programme makers normally start with their strongest episode, if this was it I am not sure I'm going to racing to the sofa each Sunday evening to view it. It is however marginally better than the 5th Gear which is just the pits. Two men "acting like we are down the pub on a Sunday afternoon with stale jokes and set piece chat", awful just awful and whats happened to the bloke Tom Ford presents with? He seeme to have become painfully thin?? Anyone in agreement on any of this? Cheers

Post 237159 by Dangerous Dave on 2009-06-22 13:58:48

May's 'oh cock' comment has evolved. Last night he said 'cockend'! which made me laugh. Best TG moment? JC winning the £100 car challenge with his £1 Volvo 760 of course! Second choice would be the Reliant Robin crashing spectacularly into the ground because the clamps didn't release (was it meant to do that though?).
Is it just me or has Top Gear just gone off the boil? Last nights programme was dull in a 'samey programme' kind of way.
I agree, I think they are running out of ideas. I think they have become over confident. Saying that though I still think its better than most of the other crap on tv! Apart obviously from the programmes I make! ;-)
Fifth Gear is better at presenting motoring issues and more realistic road tests, but crippled by the smugness of its presenters. Its ironic that the two most natural people on it are the drivers (Needell and Plato) rather than the TV professionals and journos.
Couldn't agree more! That bloke who presents with Tom Ford. (I have erased his name from my mind.) is just the biggest idiot on tv. He just loves himself to bits and he's useless! I laughed so much when he revealed he had an M3. No other car could have summed him up better. I think they should get rid of him immediatly and use Vicky BH instead. Then you've got yourself a great show!!!!

Post 237169 by volvoturboman on 2009-06-22 15:01:35

I was on youtube last week and watched a couple of episodes from the 80's and 90's. I have to say that it has moved on amazingly and as usual last night was a laugh a minute. Yeah it may b scripted but what isn't. Its much much better than fifth gear and the changes they've made are obvously in there favour because a few female friends and even my mother who used to hate it, lov it now.

Post 237179 by volvoturboman on 2009-06-22 15:39:44

Best moment was as mentioned before the £1 Volvo.

Post 237373 by 850 2.5 10v on 2009-06-23 13:21:17

I think all the best moments for TG have now passed. I think its dying very slowly and painfully. They have run out of ideas and frankly I am bored of the presenters too. I think when it comes for the next series new presenters will emerge. Lets face it the BBC will not be paying out big money when their licence fee gets reallocated to ITV / CH4. That c**k that presents with Tom Ford is a total waste of space. Tom Ford C**k Vicky B Tiff Plato Jonny Do they really need SIX presenters to make that progamme work. Ughhhh...
