Hi Mac P and welcome, looks like you have found a lovely tidy car there with the best interior (in my opinion).
Enjoy!

Thanks guys picked it up today and its very close to being mint. However I need your help.
When viewing the car I noticed the warning light in the bottom right corner.I agreed to purchase the car on the understanding that the warning light would be dealt with.I picked the car up today and they told me there was no fault code found so they extinguished the light.
I drove the 20miles home and yep you guessed it the light came back just as I was arriving home. The car drove perfectly.
I have searched the forums and I have found that it could be dirty or faulty MAF,split vacuum hose or faulty idle control valve. The only thing is all the faults were diagnosed by reading the fault code. The dealer says there were no fault codes, could he be wrong ?
Your help or advice is most welcome.

Is it an engine light, or something else?
Could be the ABS light or (if it has it) TCS.
Give us a clue as to what the symbol shown is.
Could be the MAF as they do have a limited lifespan. TCV hoses, and other vac hoses could be dud, so replacment of them might be a good plan (try silicone replacements).
Idle control would be setting the revs up higher or lower (possibly stalling) so that may be unlikley.
My main guess is the maf.
Pop it off the airbox & look inside it (WARNING DO NOT TOUCH INSIDE THE MAF!) and see if it looks like it's "melted".

Sorry guys
The description in the manual of the warning light is "fault in the engine electronic system". The symbol looks a bit like an A with a tail on the top.
As I say the car drives fine and the idle is stable.

Right the car is going in on Monday they have said they will take it back to the garage where it was checked previously and if still no joy they will then take it to Volvo. This could be a new fault and so they may get a code this time. However I will impress on them that if this chap does not see a fault code then they must take it to Volvo. Is there always a fault code ?
Would you say its ok to drive in the meantime ?

nice motor ,,love the colour havent seen may,,if it was the maf sensor it should have loss of power when light comes on,,from experince this happend to me would be on constant and giving maf code if it was done,,

That's the Lambda Sensor light. Found this that might be of use.
"Lambda light means your car emission system has problem. This could be a on the inlet side or exhaust side. There may be a defective sensor or part or blocked or broken hose, try the inlet side first, check all the hoses.
There's a short, small pipe under the inlet manifold comes from turbo charger, firstly check that, it could be defective."

As above the man is bang on, if no major lack in peformance maybe a small hair line split in one of your pipes, either way doesn't sound expensive :B_thumb:

First proper run in it today they are such a smooth, relaxing and comfy machine arent they. That five makes a lovely low grumble and then growls as you put your foot down.Very civilised but nice all the same.
Whatever that warning light is telling us it cant be much as the car drives faultlessly.
Almost forgot to add OMG!! the standard stereo is flippin awesome. So crisp, clear and full of bass.Who makes it ?
