Can you guy's advice me on the best place to buy a dump valve kit from for my t5? Would it not be a cheaper option to buy a silicone t peice and a dump valve seperate?

The kits on Ebay are pretty good tbh. Always buy a twin piston dv, not a single one ;) Forge Kit £145 Bailey Kit £107
Thanks mate why twin piston just asking that's all
Single ones have a tendancy to jam open ;) Im not exactly sure of the problems it would cause but someone i know had an engine blow up ( cossie ) after putting a single piston dv on it
Woops thanks cameron appreciated mate
IIRC Volvo's don't like the single piston ones and tend to run crap, you'll also need to either get a recirc blanking plate or just disconnect it...
hi guys TC says things about the recirc thingy ? what is it and why blank it off / disconnect it im a numbty with turbo charged engines and never had owt to do with em till now rob
The recirculating valve iirc releases pressure from the turbo
I removed mine on my last car and blanked it off with a forge plate, very fiddly job :grumpy:
On the Turbo
This is it off the car
This is the blanking plate on the car
Closer in
£23 from PFS and made by Forge

twin piston dump valves are specially made for cars with a MAF sensor (which ours has). The recirc valve is blocked becuase its alrady doing the same job as a dump valve, only it recycles the air back into the air intake pipe. You can run both but the dump valve won't be as loud
thanks guys thats helped me out too . . . will have to see what santa brings as ive got to many kids birthdays between now and christmas to be buying stuff the car doesnt really need
Ok guy's update I've managed to get hold of a bailey dump valve and blanking plate off a fellow member on here. One little question, where does the pipe from the top of my valve connect too???
i think the pipe from the recirc connects to the dump instead i might be wrong
Noisey beggars..
Ha ha we like noise down here
Ha ha we like noise down here
In the hoose?
the pipe from the dv goes to the inlet manifold if you trace the pipe from the recirc it will lead you to the nipple where it wants to go
the pipe from the dv goes to the inlet manifold if you trace the pipe from the recirc it will lead you to the nipple where it wants to go
Nipples now Pete!! Where is this going? Next it'll be biscuits......
Carnt beat a good nipple alan lol
Carnt beat a good nipple alan lol
Just the one? :pimp2:
Ide like 3 or 4 but beggers carnt be choosers
How about a cow.......my ex has two...nipples,that is..
lol
And she's a cow..
lol
Back to the subject guy's lol valve if fitted very happy!!
quick question guys you say the recirculation dump valve needs to be removed is it not possible to just remove the vac pipe from the recirc and then just add a dump valve in along the line up on the top as if the vacuum pipe is off it with render the recirc useless as it would not be opening so would theoretically be same as using a blanking plate however cheaper

The recirc valve is a sprung diaphram, removing the pipe would just mean it would have no tension (created from the air in the inlet manifold) to keep the diaphram shut. So everytime the turbo came onto boost it would simply force the valve open & the pressurised boost would be sent back to the air inlet & be wasted its only £20, might as well do it properly
I could do with some clarification. I've read through some of the posts about dump valves, here and on other sites, and there seems to be a lot of conflicting info regarding dump valves vs. MAF sensor life. Can someone in the know tell me: a: Generally is there any problem using a atmospheric dump valve on a T5. b: If so, is there any specific year of the T5 engine that is or is not prone to problems if used with a atmospheric dump valve. I only ask as my first T5 will be my first (non diesel) turbo vehicle, and I just fancy that pretentious whooosh with my gear changes.
a: Generally is there any problem using a atmospheric dump valve on a T5. *No. You can use them safely and also run the car without either the standard recirc or aftermarket item. You will need a twin piston item if you go DV. b: If so, is there any specific year of the T5 engine that is or is not prone to problems if used with a atmospheric dump valve. *Generally ME7 engine management systems do not run well with a DV (T5 cars after 98).
Is there any way around running a dump valve on a ME7 T5?
No not really. The cars run a measured system so if any air is lost the car runs rough and will be very annoying.
So, my only way around it is going to be a cunning collection of switches, old walkman's and speakers all hidden under the bonnet...
So, my only way around it is going to be a cunning collection of switches, old walkman's and speakers all hidden under the bonnet...
lol please don't do that LINK. A bloke at work had one fitted to his Rover Tomcat, even backing into a parking space at work at 4am & the stupid thing used to go off lol
WOW thats ace! Ill have two. I can ebay my original walkmans/speakers/switches, afford that AND a box of matches to set fire to whatever car(s) these get fitted to.

Think it was an optional extra on some Corsa's & Saxo's lol
Don't joke. Where VW tread, others follow. Don't forget the Polo TSi. Supercharger and Turbocharger in perfect harmony. It's only a matter of time before GM and PSA dicide to do a knocked down version!

It's only a matter of time before GM and PSA dicide to do a knocked down version!
nah they won't for exactly the reason the Polo didn't sell (not just overpriced), because as soon as you mention either turbo or supercharger (let alone both) to the insurance company they add a couple of "0's" onto the quote which isn't going to appeal to the youth market at all, & the older driver wants a big comfortable car with room for the grand kids
