Hey guys
Unfortunately i need to sell the V70 R to make way for a diesel due to the mileage i'm doing now, so i'm looking for an S60 D5. Its a brilliant car, really practical with a great engine, but i really need a diesel now.
98, S reg, i'm the third owner, Nautic Blue Pearl with Beige half leather interior. Manual. FWD. 123k. Just had new MOT and 2 new rear tyres, fronts both like new. Tax till Feb 2010.
Overall excellent condition, only the wheels could do with a refurb and the rear boot cover doesn't spring back anymore, otherwise the interior and exterior are in excellent condition.
Looking for a quick sale - £3200.
Any questions, please ask.
Cheers

Nice car mate, but that's very optomistic with todays climate! they're worth it , but they can be had for silly money now! all the best with the sale, hope you get wot you want?

Cheers. I've seen a few recently that have sold for similar money, so fingers crossed.

Had to comment - lovely motor and if I got rid of my Range Rover (LPG) or Clio Williams, I'd buy it.
I'm sure it will sell fella.

Why didn't you buy it then?
I mean I think it is lovely but I would still want to knock about £600 off the price tbh.

You know i wondered how long, Why didn't you buy it then? because it was more than i wanted to pay and i would want to shift the wifes diesel first. I was simply saying it is a nice car and well worth a viewing, i'm not related to the seller in anyway!

Fair enough........ that was the point I was making tbh. I'm going to be in the market for a new car from next weekend and i feel the same.

Thanks for the positive comment :)
Unfortunately the highest offer i've had so far has been £2500 (twice) and i'm close to accepting that early next week if nothing more happens on ebay. Time really is against me and i need the cash to buy a diesel asap, otherwise i think i'd be prepared to wait longer.
I have thought about keeping it instead, but the mileage i do it just doesn't make sense when i can get so much more out of a diesel.
Great car, sad its got to go like this.

Yes it is indeed sad. I am already looking at pics with my car in the background, just doing it's duty like a faithful hound, wondering what the hell I have done. I think at the very least I should have got the winter out if it's 4wd, but then the offer on the table next spring might not have even amounted to what you are currently getting.
I ended up spending £5750 on a 2,4JTD Alfa 156, even at more than double the mpg it will take 2 years to pay for itself, and I'm finding bits that need attention that were sorted on mine, like tyres at £100 a pop. Look at it this way and the cost 2saving" of changing vehicles really does start to get muddy.

No i know what you mean, its very difficult to tell if its the right thing to do and right to do it now. Plus the things you're finding is why i can see myself being so picky almost with the next car. It'll be finding a car with the best history and condition over things like colour and location i think, but i'm also not spending more than approx 3k as that's all i have.

Come on you know you want to do a deal with the wifes peugot Hdi estate 50+mpg, cheap tax,70k miles,1 owner, full service and just had the belts and water pump done by dealer, pas, half leather, aircon,cd,good tyres.
Still ain't working is it lol ? or as i mentioned to you GAS IT you won't look back mate honest.

Thanks Mike. As good as the 306 is, (and you know i honestly think it is a good example), its not for me unfortunately. :)
I've a very positive enthusiast interested and who's looking at buying it from me, so fingers crossed there.
But still time to make an offer if anyone else is interested? ;)

would you be interested in a s40 1.9d 115 sport lux?

Post 264947 by Allblackdup on 2009-10-17 19:53:46
Thanks for the offer on the S40. To be honest, its a really nice looking car, but i borrowed an S40 when my R had its MOT and it was too small for my liking. Its one of the better cars i've been offered, but not for me unfortunately.
Cheers.
