Afternoon After browsing these forums, i am pretty sure my T4 is suffering with the Worn Actuator/Wastegate Linkage. Its got the tell tale signs, the metallic rattle, erractic, inconsistent performance among them. Not being a qualified mechanic i am not sure what i am looking for to check it. How do i check if its worn? If it is, what sort of cost am i looking at to get them to supply and fit replacement parts?? And can anyone recommend a garage in the Milton keynes area that could do it? Cheers in advance Ben

Probably worth checking vacuum pipes etc before turning attention to turbo hardware as leaks are a common culprit for inconsistent boosting. Faulty actuators are not unknown and I believe the wastegate can become ‘sticky’ if the control rod gets crudded up, which leads to laggy/ jerky response – there are articles on the web re how to free a sticky wastegate up but not sure how practicable this might be on Volvo units. 'Rufe' can prob cost you up the solenoid if you give him the car details.
