Yep We've to get a deluge later tomorrow and Tuesday possibly, oh joy... At least with the works motors all being 4x4's for forestry work, we can still get around...! Roll on summer, when we might get warmer snow!

Dont you mean Britain is getting snow next week, it's hitting Leeds too and a few other places - there's more to this country than just the Thames valley area! :D
where did you find that forecast? i cant see it on the met office website
Try accuweather http://www.accuweather.com/world-forecast.asp?partner=forecastfox&zipcode=EUR|UK|UK186|LEEDS|&metric=1 for Leeds They are usually pretty accurate, the hourly forecasts can be spot on!

I have just had a highways claim rejected, i knackered a new tyre over xmas.

Post 298688 by gmain1967 on 2010-03-28 17:45:29

Why was it rejected? And simple answer - fight it. If everyone did, the b******s would soon get the message and start to pay up when they should. I have fought and won before, and it was a fight. But worth it. Pick up the fight!!!!

Apparently they did a road check in my area 2 weeks before i claimed and said everything was ok..Plus they had no reports of any pot holes in the area by the public. Therefore they are not liable. :-(

If it's in a residential area, ask folk that stay there whether the hole had been there for any period of time. I was fortunate it was outside a mates tyre/exhaust centre and he had repaired a couple of punctures caused by pothole. That was pretty conclusive proof that I wasn't the first to encounter it. Other than that, just because it isn't reported doesn't mean they can simply ignore it. It's their road and it caused damage. If you had damaged a roadsign, they'd be quick enough to try and get the cost of repair from you, or your insurance....
Damn right to that  Can feel it getting colder already. Supposed to be bbqing next weekend
That wind had a seious chill to it this weekend. Blew over the bird table and emptied the dished seed holder on the feeding station. At least the sparrows like picking the seeds off the ground. Looks like they will need to use it this week to help survive, I hope they havent laid eggs yet :(

Coventry is terrible for potholes at the minute & last reports were they've got over 70 claims for damage outstanding, Council turned round & said they doubt any of them will get any payouts so there obvoiusly got a BS line to cover there backs as well
