I fitted a HID kit to my C70 a few weeks ago and now all I get is people flashing because I am blinding them. I have adjusted the beam down with dash thingy but still get flashed at least 3 times a journey (10miles) Lights were checked on MOT before they were fitted and all was fine. Thinking about taking them off, any ideas? Cheers Neil

Ive now owned three V70s and all have had HIDs fitted to the reflector headlights. My first one passed MOT with them in but i used to get flashed all the time. The other two have caused me no problems. You may find one of your headlights reflectors isnt in the best of nick and may need to be replaced or alternatively you'll have to bite the bullet and buy some projectors.

http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/default.php?cPath=515_680 Scroll down to the C70/V70 etc ones, either black or Chrome - around £250 new, but some pop up every now and then on ebay. If you see a pair of ABM ones on ebay, you can convert them to right hand drive beams yourself if they are left hand drive, but not sure about the other brands.

I have had the exact same problem. I have MY2003 headlights (clear ones). The original bulbs were setup in the MOT bay - still I got flashed. Some people are quite aggressive about it. I even pointed my headlight beams at the floor using the motor. It's not the aim that is the problem - it's the pattern - it creates glare. I had projector lights but the illumination was too poor for my liking, though I gave the guy on ebay permission to use my car photos. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volvo-S70-C70-V70-Projector-Headlight-Indicator-CH-/380229291532?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item58876e8e0c I say sod that - spend 20 quid on getting some H7R bulbs for your HID kit. I did. Glare is very much reduced. No-one flashes me anymore.

H7R Bulbs? What's the difference and how does it compare? where do I get them? Many Thanks

R = reflector They are HID bulbs designed to be used in standard reflector headlamps. The bulbs have a painted tip on them, same as regular non-HID bulbs, that gets rid of a lot of the glare.

They are also a bit shorter. I bought mine on ebay
