I am a newbie, as if you did not know ;-) I posted a question in the S40 series forum part regarding my well loved baby. The whole family is car crazy and we nearly all drive Volvos. My mom has a V70 about 4 years old. My granny had a very old Volvo bought in 1978 by my grandfather. A golden tank with huge bumpers front and back. It was sold to an ex-colleague of my moms about 2 years ago, who took it to Russia/Ukraine and it is still working there. It was a steal, it only had 35K miles on the clock, was parked mostly in the garage and got serviced yearly and he got it for £200. He said it is the most reliable car he has ever had. He works in mining and oil and the car has to manage rough terrain! (Mom and Gran live in Germany.) I went to Car Giant to buy an automatic and estate. The only two requirements. I saw the Volvo and the requirements went out the window. Love at first sight and all.... So yes, it has done me proud. Its fast and safe with comfortable leather seats and lots of buttons that do funky stuff. It took me to France, Spain, Germany many times in style and comfort. Being around the UK visiting many places. I prefer driving to flying. Something about being in control. LOL I will change the car next year and currently watching the new Volvo's (to see which one I should buy when a good used deal comes up), my daughter will get this one, as she is driving it already and I know she will be safe in it. Cheerio!

Welcome to the forum mate, i prefer driving also - but sometimes you just need to jump in the flying crates to get around :)
