Anythings better than a faded bumper

Thanks Justin / Jason (joke) - borrowed from a bumper sticker in a traffic queue. (That looks wrong - long spelling for a short word, but it is correct!). :worship:

Mine aren't faded - just grey - using an Autoglym trade-only jobbie, seems to do a good job. (See "garage" pics). :)

Just done my bumpers etc. Thanks for the tip Bracer. Only difference; I used 1 coat & rubbed it in with a dry cloth immediately. Result; satin black, which looks great with my black paintwork.
Cheers, Chris.

Mine were very faded grey - I used "Williams F1" bumper gel (~£6 per bottle) to make em look less faded. Best results I've had, and probably the easiest to apply of anything I've used.

I must say thats one I didn't try but with regards to all the rest including the top brands, I found that its would only last between 1 and 3 washes, where this trick just never seems to come off. I still haven't re-done mine as its still as good as the day I put it on.

Are some 850 bumpers black and some grey ? All the plastic trim and doorhandles on mrs nb's motor are definately grey....even on the inside of the boot handle which surely won't fade ?
Post 14091 by Unknown on 2005-04-10 22:25:33
Mine also is definatly grey. I want to do what Bracer suggests but using grey KIWI shoe polish - I know this exists but it's hard to find.

I intend to try the polish tip.
However, the previous owner of my car seemed to have a spatial awareness problem and virtually every corner of the bumpers are scuffed.
Am I right in thinking that the bumpers are in more than one piece on an 855?
I saw a thread somewhere that suggested this was the case for the front bumper.
Is it also the case for the rear?
Thanks.

Indeed Martin. The top part (the grey bit) is separate to the colour coded section - which can be remove quite easily, eg if you were fitting an 850R front splitter, with the extra lip.

bracer,
you said that you polished up the door handles with the shoe polish.
didn't that end up on you hands every time you opened the door?
top idea though!

The liquid polish soaks into the plastic and dry's like paint so no you wont get it on your hands after about 5 mins ;)
