Can anyone recommend a chip that really works to get my new (02) D5 up to say 180 BHP? I am missing the pull of the T5! Mark

Rica or MTE are the default choices usually, and they allow uber tweaking later on if you get hardware mods ;) 163 to 185 should be pretty realistic.
Cheers, Will google them
NP - don't get carried away with 'power claims' basically, they all give the same power it's a matter of preference and the 'style' of map (i.e. if it's smooth, or a bit more aggressive in the boost coming on.) not had them but I've heard Rica are more fruity and aggressive, MTE a bit smoother.

The power from the map is slightly more than a Rica tune at about 195 bhp but much much smoother in it's delivery. I have recently bought a S60 D5 E3 and of course we have tuned it. You are welcome to test drive it. For members of VPCUK we will tune your E3 D5 for a bargain price of £350 this includes a Rolling road power run and a diagnostic check before and after. Sounds good Hamish - there are plenty of claims about improved economy around as well. Obviously the only way to go faster is to burn more fuel when you put your foot down. But driven 'normally' what improvement to fuel economy do you recon? I have only had this car for 1 day and done about 200 miles motorways and country roads averaging 44 mpg - can it get any better? As with any decent tune you will see between 2 - 4 mpg improvement :)

Mark
Tuning the D5 should make up for the loss of the T5 :) My old S60 D5 Euro 3 was RICA tuned (sports tune 210 hp) and achieved a genuine 0-60 in 7.23 secs, officially timed at Donington Park 2005 (driven by Spesh, not me). It was actually faster in the 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile than a tuned BMW 530D. I have the official results for anyone who doesn't believe me!! LOL It was also regularly capable of achieving over 800 miles on a tank, averaging well over 50 mpg.

More-bhp in Cheshire do remaps for D5's for £199.00. I cant tell you what the map is like, but a mate got his Golf tdi done and he's made up with it. If Hamish can match that, then i might got to hlm instead ;) Be carefull, the intercoolers on d5's have been known to pop after cars have had remaps.Something to do with the presure
