no brake lights help

hi all today my brake lights stopted workin ,the hi line one works the fuse is ok the manual says could be stop light switch at brake peddle anyone else had this prob or no what it could be thanks roy

check the other bulbs that arnt working... if the top one is working then the switch is fine. i think youll find you just gota replace a couple of bulbs...or check the bulb holders where they fit the light unit

hi there one was workin the day when got to hafords took one out and replaced it with the other then they all went off ,got new bulbs and they dont work

i would check that you got the bulb holder in correctly then cos they are sh@t to change ,and so easy to fit them wrong.... and make sure you changed the stop light bulbs,not the side light bulbs

hi got it went out again finaly found it one of the releys is we bit slack fiddled about we it and tightned up the prongs think i might need a new reley takeit i need to go to volvo for them

hi there is a fuse box in the boot behind the nearside trim in there there are some relays its usally one of these if you get somone to work the pedal you should be able to get it to click (by feeling them you should be able to feel which one it is ) i think it would be a dealer only item hope this helps thanks steve

I had a problem with my brake lights not working, it was the switch on the pedal, the contacts inside were dirty. A few minutes of cleaning and it was working fine again. It is a bit of a nightmare to remove the switch, but worth a try before going and buying anything.
