Who actually makes the 2.0 t4 engine? Volvo? Ford? Or someone else?

I understand it's the same as the T5 engine (literally) with a cylinder lopped off. Volvo did use Renault engines in the 300/400 series if I recall correctly. For the V40/S40, then they're Volvo engines (2.0, 1.9T, 2.0T) and Mitsubishi (1.8). The early 1.9TD is also a Renault engine.

nothing wrong with reno engines. there very good. gearboxes are ****. but good engines.

Agreeing with the fact that the french will knock up a good engine, but the make the gearboxes from a shoe box, spanners & bits off granny's old washing machine. My dad's old espace was a work horse till the box & torque converter ate one another. The car had over 130000 on the clock & it worked well & was a good car. My dad bought another one last year, but missed the features of the Mk2 R plate he lost.
