hi i have bought a s70 t5 R reg it has on the reg plate the 340 sleeper can anyone tell me what this means
i'm guessing it was owned by someone who either has/had a 340 probably with a Clio 2litre engine in
thanks for the reply, looking at modifying it, been told it has 300bhp+. what else can be done
a 340 is the model of a volvo. presume you know that already? sleeper is a car that looks fairly standard but actually has a beast of an engine! first example of a sleeper which springs to mind is a Vauxhall Nova with a c20let engine inside (2.0 16v turbo) basically 300bhp in a sardine tin! lol another example of a sleeper....... type in on youtube 'crazy volvo 850' it should be a black saloon, turn your volume up, watch and enjoy hope this helps
I wouldnt get your hopes up with the power claims, as many will shortly be telling you it cant be done without a turbo upgrade.... it can but with extreme difficulty. I would get it on the rollers and get a true reading. There is plenty that can be done including reversed intercooler pipework, FMIC, larger 3" throttle body, ME7 outlet and inlet Manifolds, larger turbo etc etc
pedro........... your replying to a thread without a picture / video? you must be able to rustle up something lol
pedro........... your replying to a thread without a picture / video? you must be able to rustle up something lol
he's only on 3 posts so can't hijack his thread already thinking about it, wasn't there a (claimed) 340 remap which it might be referring to
heres the engine
heres the engine
RIP kit (reverse intercooler pipework) remap (no strap on the ECU box) Powerflex top mount
with you saying no strap on the ecu box, does that mean its had a remap
First on the shopping list should be a Strut brace looking at that, only £65 for a genuine Volvo part. You wouldnt believe the difference they make to the overall feel of the car.
with you saying no strap on the ecu box, does that mean its had a remap
more than likely, the black box behind the drivers side headlight is the ECU box & after 96 had a metal strap over the top which was pop-rivetted to the wing. Theirs not many other reasons why they'd remove it, if you open the lid the engine ECU is in the middle slot out of the 3 it might have a label on it if its remapped
mines been mapped and still has the ecu strap thingy. or is that just a known sign its been played with by having no strap? nice engine bay by the way mate edit* just seen your post pedro
cheers, always wanted t5 and well happy with it. its running on 16 p.s.i is that too much
sounds right for a remap, 16 psi is fine
cheers, always wanted t5 and well happy with it. its running on 16 p.s.i is that too much
no mate 16psi is a good figure i run mine usually at 20 psi
cheers for the replys very helpful looking forward to meeting some of you at the next meet
mines been mapped and still has the ecu strap thingy. or is that just a known sign its been played with by having no strap?
850's have to have a new chip soldered inside so the strap has to come off, the strap should be fixed to the wing with a black pop-rivet but have seen them put back with a screw afterwards
Mine hasn't got the strap, And it hasn't been remapped :)
mine never came with a strap, mind you its not even got an ECU box now lol
that sounds like a something you've done yourself lol
What gave it away !
mine never came with a strap, mind you its not even got an ECU box now lol
It's got part of it left, But I cut it out ready to swap the ECU's :D
where can i find my injectors????
front of engine, should be a silver plate you can remove. or could be blue on yours going on you engine bay picture.
just had a look they are green
that would certainly point to some proper power.
