Hello all.
Yesterday i fitted new discs and pads all round on my 850 the fronts are the ap kit 325mm 48 vane. I drove it home from my workshop and the noise was unreal, so loud. After driving a mile down the road i was home and notist the bolt that holds the pads in the caliper with the sleeve over it was rubbing on the disc??? Why i dont no so i just removed the sleeve and thats one sound gone. The passenger side brake is very loud if i drive without braking its fine but as soon as i brake its very loud (grinding sound) and when i fully stop they semi lock i cant see why they biteing all the time. Im using correct discs 225mmx28mm 48 vane and new ebc bluestuff ndx pads. Any thoughts anyone?

Presume you've checked things like clearances against the wheels etc?..

Yes mate this is the second set on it the 1st set had no problems it may just be bedding in but its a horrible sound i done about 40 miles init last nite and it quitend down quite a bit but still there lol

Could well be just down to bedding in, give it a few more miles.
What do you think of them? I have a set waiting to be fitted.

Yea thats what im hoping. What the discs or the pads i used to have ebc yellowstuff after the ap pads and there were just as good but overall there a brilliant kit iv never realy had brake fade but ive just upgraded to bluestuff ndx godspeed rate them very highly so ill giv them ago.

I have redstuff in the 302's at the moments, the AP's have AP pads!
I sometimes find the redstuff can be a bit dead! Not very helpful when trying to stop :eek:

Yea yellow stuff is good aslong as you dont mind washing your wheels every day very high dust but stop well.

Always worth knowing, though I think I'll probably use DS2500's once the AP's are worn out

I'm about to replace the AP crossdrilled discs on mine after 2years and 18k miles am considering the Godspeed discs with EBC blue stuff, I found that the original AP pad which is either DS2500 or DS3000 did nothing when cold. Are there any other views on pad choice please?

I've only recently fitted an AP BBK and am using ebc yellowstuff.
TBH I think they could be better but in fairness I haven't really done many miles so they may not be properly bedded in yet.
I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the godspeed rotors, please keep us informed.

I got yellows all round on mine and i have to say they work realy well,
The hotter they get the better the bite,
Also i dont get much dust,quite pleased alround really.
