Night of the Morons?

Just travelled back from my cousins (some 20 miles down the motorway) and couldn't believe how many muppets were on the roads.
Most cars on the motorway were travelling in the middle lane at 65mph, one idiot in a van undertook me on the hard shoulder, and finally when I got home some **** had parked a foot across the front of my driveway (and its only 6 inches wider than my Volvo) despite having the whole road to park on (and I think they live over the road). So I ended up crushing my wing mirror against the gate and driving partly across my lawn to get in.
Aaaaaaargggh
Rant over LOL

i'm afraid the standard has dropped to unbelievably low levels, i do alot of motorway driving & very rarely see anyone in anything other than a truck using the inside lane even if its perfectly clear ahead. People who don't bother indicating really bugs me

Most of the m-ways here are two lanes apart from around the bigger cities, so thankfully don't have to put up with that UK 'I'm staying in the middle lane syndrome'.
Standard of driving in France is pretty low too- people just get in their cars and switch off the awareness button!

Me too. Kill em all lol
Bomb, I feel your pain!

i think they should employ the american policing method & stop people for even the minor offences. I remember when i first started driving got stopped & given a producer for a bulb out, get more coppers on the road & get them pulling people over

That's the issue - policing by speed camera. Sh*te.

Got to agree, I use three motorways to get to and from work and the amount of complete idiots I see every day is staggering. The new one that buggs me is cretins who are behind you in the outside lane who want to get past, because they're in the outside lane they cant over take so they will just try and undertake at the first opportunity(even though there's no room in front of me!). I once had one guy go from the outside lane, across all three lanes, onto the hard shoulder and then back across all three just to get past two cars.
Really winds me up when I see people sitting in the middle lane when the inside lane is clear.

another one that confuses me that confuses me is the one permanently stuck in the middle lane, not just when the inside is clear but can't go to the outside to overtake either. Had them come up to me while i've been overtaking something, slow down because i'm in the way & then put there foot down once i move back again, all while the outside lane is clear & nothing else about

Had a great morning so far, not. Got downstairs this morning to the light pitter patter of rain on the window, soon as I put my key in the door to open it the rain turned really heavy and I got soaked just locking the door and getting in the car, then I had to get past the car that had parked badly.
And now the sun is out and I'm stuck at work, pffft.

As stated, policing by camera doesn't work, fine for catching somebody 0.0001mph over the limit, no good for just plain bad driving.
The asnwer, as already put, we need more police on the roads, not just on the motorways, but everywhere.

i partly agree, i think there are more police on the road than people think, just the fact there in unmarked cars doesn't do them any favours. Their's too much paperwork now so no incentive for the officers to stop people for the smaller offences, plus if the person in question wants to be a pain they can contest it all the way to the courts, in which case more police time being wasted getting everything sorted & 9/10 be dropped for lack of evidence inless they were in a camera car

Yes, sadly your right there, the police seem to have less powers each year.

LOL, quoting yourself.
My sandwich was awesome, lovely soft bread, juicy sausage, well done egg, mmmmmmm
At least the rain has stopped so you can walk the dog without getting soaked.
