Is the forum intending on having a display at Trax this year? If not, does anyone know of any clubs where i can tag along with my C70

Post 392612 by Tomcat on 2011-07-06 16:11:31

Oooh when is it?..

Post 392644 by andy72 on 2011-07-06 18:13:21

its 4th September but tickets and clubs will be booking now right up to mid august. Its huge, a bit chavvy in parts but a good day out. Track time, detailing area, 0-60 sprints, passenger rides, 4500 club cars, trade stands, its ususally the biggest show of the year. http://www.traxshows.co.uk/ and the link for clubs.... http://www.traxshows.co.uk/clubs/

I'm going :)

Post 392653 by S70T5Chris on 2011-07-06 18:38:21

I've been going to Trax for years, so I expect I'll be going again this year. Haven't been on a club stand for a couple of years, it does make it easier when you are. Might try and book some track time this year too.

Post 392662 by Tomcat on 2011-07-06 19:06:46

Apparently there's camping this year as well, tickets are £15 each, if we're going as a forum then we need to get a shift on and apply. Can anyone interested add their name please.. Date is September 4th. 1) Tc.

i havent, not really my place too being a newbie, didnt want to step on toes etc. Very simple to sort from memory. Double check the deadline for club entry, get everyone to send their ticket cash to you, send off the form and cash, await tickets ~(usally last minute rush a week before), post tickets out. Meet outside show and arrive together or meet in showground. Well chuffed its being sorted though :wiggle:

No worries, I have far too much time on my hands at the moment so ill take on the task. Just extracted this from the Trax Website
Car Clubs This ‘season finale’ brings together the finest club cars, the biggest automotive brands, and the most engaging experiences and non-stop track action on the new F1 GP circuit. TRAX continues to evolve as the premier one day performance car show to excite, educate and inspire the most influential automotive consumers in the UK. The foundation of TRAX is its massive support from car clubs throughout the UK and Europe with more than 4,500 of the best cars on display. The quality and variety on display is unrivalled, so expect an incredible turnout featuring everything from striped out track weapons to the very latest performance and tuned motors. Club benefits • Discounted entry tickets – only £15 each! • Access to the show ground to display your car • Beat the traffic with access to the show hours before the public • Special club offers from our official partners • Dedicated club track sessions – starts from just £19 per car • Club competitions • Dedicated club camping areas • An area to socialise with your friends and other club members Club booking information Entry tickets are just £15 for club members. Book early to avoid disappointment as space always sells out. Closing date is 22nd July 2011.
Therefore the deadline needs to be set for all entry and all payment to be collected by Monday the 18th to play it safe so to speak. Tickets are £15 each and camping is an additional £10. Tickets are £20 on the door unless payed in advance with the club booking form. Only one club booking form may be submitted too. Please take a look at the booking form below http://www.traxshows.co.uk/files/2011/03/TRAX-Car-Club-Forms.pdf If you want dedicated track time etc you will need to let me know. I dont intend on collecting any payment as of yet but will require a new list of participants and there intentions in the below format. 1) The Flying Moose - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - Camping @ £10 (Plus details of track sessions) When everything is noted one week before the 18th ill start collecting Money so the 11th for argument sake. I am however going to ring the organisers to confirm the whole procedure. Cheers TFM

Post 392857 by andy72 on 2011-07-07 08:39:59

Guys, if its the same as previous years, if the minimum number of track time is reached by a club, they get dedicated track time allocated, ie no other clubs on the track. If not, you just get bunged in with random track sessions. I think its something like 25 cars etc but the organisers will confirm. Some clubs team up with a similar club and share the track session to get teh numbers up. Its a good way of being on track with other careful club members rather than random idiots. All depends on numbers though. 1) The Flying Moose - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - Camping @ £10 - No track time 2) Andy72 - 1 (poss 2) tickets - no camp - no track time. 3) smithness - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - Possibly camping - possibly track time 4) Tc- Advanced Ticket @ 15 - no camping - No track time.. 5) Claymore - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - no camping - Track time 6) S70t5chris (S70) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - No camping - Will be booking track time 7) S70t5chris (240) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - No camping - Possible track time

I won't be there, I'm at another car show in north Wales, plus I doubt the T5 will be ready, but I do have a 3m hexagonal gazebo you can borrow, if Claymore doesn't mind taking that is?

Post 393052 by The Flying Moose on 2011-07-07 22:36:31

Small confession to make, I didnt have time to ring them today after wrestling with Volvo engines and blazing down the phone at BT. It is however my priority for tomorrow. FYI dedicated track time for the club requires 50 cars and the price is reduced to £19 per car. I doubt however we could ever get 50 members to race. I for one would be too scared of pranging it.

Blimey, Trax. I haven't been there since about 2006! If anyone went and got my Bluey on the 0-60 send it me :D 6.2 to 60 in a white Bluebird that made a loud bang from 1st to 2nd and made everyone jump, Hahahaahaha. Thats the weekend I get made redundant, So I may go as all my payment goes in the Thursday before. Will let you know :)

extremely embarrassing and imensely gutting but i was informed last night that its my nephews christening on the 4th sep. Of all the days in 365 to pick and they pick the same day as Trax. Im a god parent aparantly so i kinda need to be there. I havent asked if they would re-arrange in fear of a family ousting. So... after asking if anyone was going, i have to withdraw :grumpy: Im well up for any other shows that are going on, dont mind traveling for decent ones. 1) The Flying Moose (850 T5) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - Camping @ £10 - No track time 2) Andy72 (C70) - have to withdraw - selfish family christening 3) smithness (850 T5)- Advanced Ticket @ £15 - Possibly camping - possibly track time 4) Tc (850R) - Advanced Ticket @ 15 - no camping - No track time.. 5) Claymore (850 T5) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - no camping - Track time 6) S70t5chris (S70) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - No camping - Will be booking track time 7) S70t5chris (240) - Advanced Ticket @ £15 - No camping - Possible track time 8) Pedro (S60) - Advanced Ticket @15 - No camping - Track time 9) T5Monkey (S40)- Advanced ticket - possibly camping - No Track time 10) Santa20 (S60R)- Advanced ticket - Not camping - Track Time - Might bring Mrs Santa20 and Little Santa20 though not sure 11) Jamest5r (855t5r) Advanced ticket + camping. 12) Smithy (old tech 940) Advanced ticket + camping (Jack your under 14 so free
Any progress Em?
I tried multiple times to get through on friday to no avail. I very much doubt there will be any issues however I need to see if there is a limit for club spaces etc and how many cars can be on a stand. Everything else seems to be self explanatory. Ill try them again tommorrow but as long as we submit our application in advance of the deadline there should be no come back.

The prices are as follows: Ticket Only = £15 Ticket and camping = £25 Ticket, camping and Tracktime = £55 Ticket and Tracktime = £45 Please note track time is £30 per 15 minute session. If you want longer than 15 minutes add another £30 and annote it on the payment notes. Any queries can be directed towards myself. I will post more relevant information as and when it becomes available. I have been unable to set up a dedicated paypal for this event as paypal only allows one bank account per paypal account. There for I will be collecting funds via my personal paypal account which is as follows: Paypal: emlyntsandvig@googlemail.com Could you please include your username, car details inc reg and exactly what you have purchased in the paypal notes section please. Mr Moose, Passengers. They just pay the same 'advance ticket' price. ie 2 people = £30. simplez A little tip for you that i picked up sorting stands for a few years at the show. You can claim a show pass for EVERY entry ticket you buy. That means you can get car passes using the passenger tickets. They will then allocate you a space suitable for the number of car passes you have ordered. This does two things 1) it gives you a bigger area to set your cars up in (they are always squeeze you in) 2) it allows for late comers, right up through august. They simply buy their own ticket in advance (or on the gate) and you send them a car pass (which are free). Thsi means you can still get people on the stand right up to last minute. Obviously it all depends on how many passengers people bring as to how may car passes you have spare. When i did the Astra club stand, we had 40 cars but 60 people (incl passengers). I just ordered 60 car passes giving me 20 to play with up to the day.

Just noticed folks that paypal is taking a fee from each transaction, average fee is £2. If everyone wouldnt mind adding an extra £2 it should cover the costs and save me from picking up the difference. May not sound alot but if 20 folk attend at £2 a person its £40 out of my pocket. Cheers TFM
I did mine as gift so you should also had the full £60. If I understand that then, if my wife wants to be a passenger whilst I drive we would both have to pay the £30 track fee each?
No. Its dead simple. You currently have the chance to get you and your passnegers into the show for £15 each. Your car will get a car pass to get you into the clubs stand area rather than the general car park Track time is a different thing, a bolt on if you like. This is whatever the track fee is on Moose's post. You can take passengers with you free if i remeber correct. You certainly dont pay twice for track time. The only time you would pay two track time fees, is if you wanted two sessions or had two drivers. Moose, theres a section on the form where you say how many entry tickets, how many car passes etc. You then just fill in your details as club rep, enclose a cheque and wait for everythingt o arrive in a big envelope usually a week before the show. You then have a mad rush posting all the tickets out. May be worth getting some postage cost on top of the ticket price or it will come out of your own pocket

On Monday the 18th a cheque and the completed application will be sent 1st class to the event organisers. Also please update the above list if any ammendments are made. Regards TFM
As your car has passed MSA inspection they might allow it, but need to speak to them & find out.

Also has anyone got a Gazebo they are willing to lend the club over the weekend? I would also advice bringing some form of camp chair too. Application was sent off yesterday via Recorded first class delivery. As soon as I hear news and recvieve passes etc I will inform you all. Closer to the time when I have recieved all the passes I will request addresses to send everything out to people, failing that if individuals preffer they could be collected on the day but I believe its far easier if you already have your passes. Those that are camping I could bring your passes and give them to you at the camp site?

I think that was where a few of us stayed in 2008?? Couple of Q's: 1- what are we doing about collecting tickets? To be sent or pick them up at the campsite. 2 - are we going to build a bit VPCUK camping village? If so we need to arrange a meeting location outside the campsite to ensure that we can get set up together. Would suggest as many that can meet at the petrol station just south of the entrance between 2-3pm and travel up together??

Its entirely up to you guys at the end of the day. I would however suggest that those that are camping can pick their tickets up from me as I am camping too. But 'IF' they don't, a popular meeting place has always been the BP garage/services on the A43 before (south) the Silverstone turn off. Might not be ideal for those camping though. Although having said that, might be worth those that aren't camping, drive straight to the camp site, and everyone meet up there maybe?

Right folks, Recieved a courtesy call from Trax today after they took payment. The tickets are now being sent out to me and I am hoping they will arrive by Saturday post or at the latest Monday. Can all those who want to collect their tickets on the day start a list so I know please. Campers... may I suggest it would be easier to collect tickets from me on site as there is no risk of loss in the postal system and 20-20 1st class stamps are quite expensive ;) All those who wish to have their tickets posted please PM me with the following details: -Name in Full -Address -What you purchased (saves me thrawling through the thread) For those who do not make contact via PM I will assume you want your tickets on the day. Post 406410 by The Flying Moose on 2011-08-28 09:47:45

Right folks, Listen in and I shall explain all that need be explained. I have opened the club pack today and here is what we have. First opening times: The Campsite will open 1200 on Saturday the 3rd Silverstone will open at 0800 until 1700 Club access however is from 0630 and is strongly reccommended. Our club parking at Silverstone is accessed via gate "T" and the VPCUK club stand is area "12". I have 18 passes for cars to be parked and displayed in the club area, those without will have to park in the public car park. Vehicle passes will need to be clearly displayed in windscreens. Entrants on the day will need to pay £20 on the gate, under 14's however are free. Track Time: I have recieved 7x 1040 track time tickets (briefing time 0940) and 2x 1240 track tickets (briefing at 1140) Those doing tracktime it is advised that you display a club stand pass initially to gain access to the club stand and later display the track time pass. This way you will be able to display on the stand both before and after the event. Each track session has a packup I have extracted the key points for you. Drivers: -ALL Drivers must be 18 or over -ALL drivers must be at least 5"2 tall -ALL drivers must have a full driving license and MUST DISPLAY both parts on the day of the event or they will not be allowed out on track -ALL drivers must attend a briefing before going out on track, failure to attend will void your session. -Helmets are compulsory and a limited supply is available -Drivers must have legs and arms covered at all times whilst driving on track Seatbelts are compulsory -Drivers MUST sign an indemnity form -No hand held camera's are allowed on track Passenger: -Passengers are allowed and passes can be purchased on the day for £10 -Only front seat passengers are permitted -Passengers must be over 18 -Helmets are compulsory -Arms and legs must be covered -Seatbelts compulsory -Passengers must also sign an indemnity form. Vehicle Restrictions: -Any road legal car is allowed on track -Your vehicle must be in suitable condition for circuit driving and to MOT standards -Slicks are NOT permitted -3 Wheelers not permitted (cant see any issues here!) -The maximum sound level is 105db at 4500rpm As for the track rules Ill let you read those on the day yourself, there are many! Obviously only those with two track times will be allowed one of the later time packs. Cheers Folks The Flying Moose

Thats entirely up to you mate, I have the set times, those who purchased from other members will have to deal with them directly. As far as I am concerned (without sounding rude) I have done my part by organising and sorting the logistical element. Im affraid I cannot book any further track time, club stand passes or advanced passes. To my knowledge however passes can be purchased on the day for all bar club stands.
sorry i didn't make it very clear but i meant camping passes, if any one had booked some and was not going to use them, before i booked camping if it was still available

Betsy will almost certainly not be ready now - I will be probably bringing Trudy (our new S40 R-design). I can still bring the gazebo/awning if it is desired. My track session will be up for grabs.

Sorted, just look on the trax booking site and camping is now available on the door, so everyone can camp if they wish last minute. Is there a plan about meeting up / vpcuk camping together ?

Is there a plan about meeting up / vpcuk camping together ?
I think we will be meeting up at some point somewhere. The campsite opens at 12pm on the Saturday but I will probably arrive mid afternoon to allow for ample drinking time!
Fraid I can't guarantee I'm going to attend, won't know if I can afford it until late on Friday sadly.
Will be a shame if you cant attend TC but I will understand why. Ok on another note... Been contacted via Claymore, he is no longer attending so there is another entry ticket and track pass up for grabs. The track pass will no no good however for those already on the track as they are all for the 1040 session bar two for 1140.

Campers: Suggest we meet at the BP service station just south of Silverstone between 2-3pm, then travel as many together. If there are a few of us we should be able to create enough space for the missing few.. Ticket collectors: Suggest as many as possible come direct to the campsite for 07:30-08:00, and remember to start out early as with previous experiences with NPOC I've stood out side for 2hrs waiting for a car to make it 2 miles and missed some of the event. If we have a designated person who is willing to meet you at the gate then fair enough, but someone will need to put up a mobile number...

Well I had a fantastic time guys thanks very much. Cheers for all who turned up, it was a good turn out and worthwhile for all I think. Camping an absolute laugh. Nice to meet two new Faces Adrian and Jane, appologies me James and Smithy drank all the beer... must have drank nearly 40 between the three of us! The best part of the night had to be when the young lass complimented our "loud" Pink Floyd. You could tell straight away we were the Volvo owners if you removed the cars as we had full size barbeques, electric hook up and huge strip lights to power our "circle" around the barbeque. Thanks also to Judnenija for suitably scaring me in his V40 today, an absolutely fantastic bit of kit and my god can you drive! Ill see you all soon parked in a layby near the M11 waiting till 4am to catch a plane to Tenerife... a perfect long break this has been. Cheers all.

Post 407974 by LiamT4 on 2011-09-04 21:32:39

Excellent day, once it had stopped raining (lol). Good to meet some new faces too. Some very nice cars there and there was a v10 m5 on the track that sounded amazing, when he finally started giving it some. The Judge was really chucking that t4 into the corners and was giving a lot of "faster" cars problems. Hilarious watching rwd cars when it was wet, looked like a handfull. Lots of respect also to a red bmw e30 that was giving a nissan gtr nightmares and a red pug 106 that was flying around the bends. Fantastic Sorry chris i missed you at the end, i was trying to avoid running down dumb chavs that seemed to be stepping out in front of me. They were a real tempting target! lol

Post 408023 by JUDGENINJA on 2011-09-05 01:05:10

Thanks to all who came and it was a shame for those that couldn't, you missed soem fun... My weekend started on route to the BP station, as I drove past gridlock on the M25 on Saturday I realised that I'd forgotten my Licence (Doh!!). Took the decision to go to Silverstone set up camp, enjoy a BBq, then get my Licence during the night.. So I met LiamT4 (Still confusing name!!!) and Flying Moose at the Petrol station. I made it there at 14:30 and then wondered if anyone else had actually said if they were coming or not, so with a useless 3G signal I managed to check the thread for people running late, but a small convoy of a T4,(Vectra)SRi and T5 moved to the campsite. It was a pretty quick sign on and with my pop up 30 second tent I was set. Adrian and Jane soon followed and quickly setup their manor house for the night. James and his nephew were next and once Smithy finally arrived we had a camping village the envy of the park - BBQ/wood burner; 240v with strip lights and just enough chairs to play "move and you lose it". After a couple of Sausages expertly cooked with a spatula made from a Coke can and two forks I really needed to shoot the 200mile round trip to collect my paperwork so I left them and shot down the M40 at speed and I possible could have made it there and back quickly if is wasn't for the stupid temporary road works just before the M40 turn off . Anyway made it back to find a pile of cans, Pink Floyd and half a hedge to burn collected by the boys, where we sat till the early hours as all the thump, thump music was drowned out. So it looked like the boring Volvo owners had outlasted the younger folk. So cheers guys it was a great night if only spoilt by the very short amount of sleep. THE STAND Image We al most looked professional with some choreographed parking which took 5 mins to arrange unlike the MGZR group which seemed to take forever. Image And finally Mrs Wobbly's car was polished... Image My track sessions were interesting: Session 1 - Raining and very slippy Followed a 200SX and an Xr2 initially to clear the pace car...so one lap down we were off. The XR2 was clearly slower than us so was happy to pull to one side, but the 200SX obviously didn't want a cheesy yellow FWD grandad car showning him up so he went for it, with me stuck to his tail..... corner one down..... corner two fine, then corner three the 200SX runs out of talent and spins the bottoms out on the gravel.... 3miles back to the pits and a wait ment that our session was over... It gave me a chance to see jsut how slippy the track was, but those that had only one track session must have been pissed. Session 2 - Still wet I think that the loopiness had subsided as we got a full session, it was enjoyable chasing down what I think was a 600BHP HSE Land Rover. He was immense on the straights, but I had to dive one up the inside to get past. One past I was off for the next victim, which at one point in the new section of track I think I ran out of tyres/talent/whatever and turned what was a pretty straight forwards 4wheel side across the track to a fight for survival as I sawed the steering to get it back under control just... anyway with that sorted it was a smooth run for the rest of the session and with no damage I was back in the pits... Session 3 - Drying track. In the words of BBC2 Miranda..."SUCH FUN!!!!". With Flying Moose as my co-pilot(Victim) a Drying track was a complete different experience. As I had someone to scare, my racing lines weren't the best, but some intentional 4 wheel slides and smoking wheels were the order of the day. This was probably not the fastest way round a track, but it was fun any way..... Session 4 - Passenger in Smithy's 940 What an under-rated bit of kit.... Smithy took it nice and smoothly round the first lap and I was enjoying my sunday drive round enjoying the scenory....then he unleashed the beast and I got a good apprieciation of just what it could do. Certainly as the session went on the confidence grew and I reckon on open pitlane track day where you get a bit of instruction on racing lines that car would fly. ...thanks Smithy So the day was over and off I travelled home only to get caught in another traffic jam about 1mile from my turn off on the A3 just outside Guildford....1hr later we were turned around on the dual carraigeway and sent up an emergency road and on our way home. Unfortunately my mate who was going to come let me down, so I'm relying on the rest of the group to have taken pictures of the track action.... luckily I think everyone missed my mishap... Notes for next time: More Volvos please.. we were too far spread out and it would have been nice to have been able to play with the T5 a bit more.. Must have my 850 ready.... Thanks everyone for another good day even if the weather wasn't too good..

Hi guys, Unfortunately I haven't got the time to sort, delete, crop, rotate, colour balance my photos or even convert the RAW files to JPEGS for the next two weeks. As I thought this might be a possibility I also shot in JPEG with a slightly warm colour profile loaded. I've uploaded these images to http://gallery.richs.me.uk/main.php?g2_itemId=24380 Far to many photos with some showing various overtaking sequences. Feel free to repost or edit pictures. Thanks to Emlyn for organising the stand, much appreciated mate. Was a great day, shame about the weather in the morning, and the first track session being a washout. The second was much better though, still very wet. Was really struggling to keep up with a ScoobyDoo, he had so much more grip out of the bends than me. Could get the power down so much sooner, even with the Quaife I struggled like mad. He even had as much straight line speed as me give or take. Got him eventually though :D It was very nice to finally meet face to face with some of you guys. I'm not used to feeling like the new guy! (been around here a bloody long time now!). But I've got to say what a thoroughly decent bunch of people, and I really look forward to meeting up again, and having a beer or two sometime! Thanks all.

Shame! and as I only know what Wobbly looks like, could have walked straight past you. Glad everyone had a good day, weather was a bit pooh, but didnt bother me or my mates. My mate put his C30 D5 on the rolling road for a laugh - had been chipped and recorded there at 225, and this read out 228.somethjing, so not far off the original reading - He was chuffed.

Sorry I missed it all was looking forward to coming - been very busy with work and the GF has been neglected and gotten quite unhappy as she's had some time off while I've been too busy working to see her - so I took the decision to head back to Scotland (was in York seeing family) to spend some time with her! I would have ignored her but I don't want to be single again at the moment plus she's growing on me :D I'll plan everything better next year and hopefully make it then.

I made it there at 14:30 and then wondered if anyone else had actually said if they were coming or not, so with a useless 3G signal I managed to check the thread for people running late, but a small convoy of a T4,(Vectra)SRi and T5 moved to the campsite.
Has my car been downgraded to a t5 then? ;) Anyway, did you get your car on the rollers?
It is a shame I never realized you guys were going :( did anyone get a picture of the Range Rover that was hustling around? by Christ that thing sounded sweet
You mean that white range rover with Green wheels that was in my way??? Had to send one up the inside just to get past....but I did enjoy the sound track from behind it.

hi guys, have various vid's and pic's of trax fun, was just wondering what would be the best way to post them for you all to enjoy, as i'm new to all this forum stuff any help will be greatly welcome. many thanks. Adrian

A good way of uploading pics is using photobucket. www.photobucket.com Create an account, upload then post the pictures using the address provided for forums. As for videos youtube is the best option, and again a fairly self explanatory service which too also requires you to register for free.
