Is it as straight forward as it looks to swap the wastegate on my 15t, it looks like just undoing the 3 bolts and removing the old one and replace with the new one ????

Yes mate it really is that simple. Oh and you need to remove the split pin from the actuator rod too. The new one may not be set to the correct 6-8psi however.
And what is the small unit behind the wastegate on the turbo with 3 bolts holding it on which has a pipe out of it ??
think that would be the reciirc valve if its a kinda triangle shape
