Hi guys, thanks for all the help so far! What I was wondering is, what sort of price am I looking at to have the head off, decoked, valves bedded, new gaskets etc, new cambelt & rebuild? 2.0 T4 2001. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, if I could get help & advice so I don't screw it up! Many thanks

Or just buy a regular block from a breakers. Probably works out cheaper than the head route, you can get resonable ones for about £300-£400.

It's 3 grands worth of nearly new fully forged engine for 900 quid!!!!
and with this engine you can run what you like and it will last longer than the car itself lol
Would be nice but finances dont allow unfortunately :-/
