Cruelty to Volvos

I saw this on the A31 yesterday, sorry about the pic quality, took it quickly on my crapberry. http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/images/satellite/attach/jpg.gif It was 5-up, boot was loaded to the rafters, trailer looked heavy too. Not sure weather to go - on about how tough these things are or complain about how a volvo shouldn't be abused in this way. it was on German plates so make your own decision!
Reminds me of when my dad put a bag of cement in the front of the Hillman Imp to improve the handling! :)
sounds like a good idea! i used to take the spare wheel out of my mr2 and put 2 bags of sand in there to even it out to help the 'pendulum effect' lol

I bet it's dealing with that situation in it's stride! I've had a fair amount of weight in mine before and it dealt with it faultlessly.

Meh, Mine deals with a quarter of a tonne every day :P Had over 240kg of lead and copper in the back so far and it didn't really feel it :)

This is what volvos are for there work horses and never complain at what ever you chuck at them. I used to rip hedges/conifers out with my old 240 it never complained a bit

Tut tut. ,using Volvo's as mules is cruel :-! Lol mind u ,u must have made a fortune the amount you could squeeze in from Holland pmsl hope u saved us all a smoke? Any discount coupons?

Post 402754 by antz on 2011-08-10 10:57:59

Its not cruelty. They were built for that kind of thing! My old 245GL used to carry arcade machines for a living until I got it then I sold it to a guy who wanted a retro ride to carry everything for his carboot. Once my mates garage roof collapsed during some heavy rain and he rang me up asking if I could take some stuff to the tip because him and mum only had a VW Polo and a Honda Civi Type R which were both full. I popped round and emptied the water sodden garage contents into the 245 and did one run to the tip. Job done!

I must admit, My sweed got abused the other day, 3 night storage heaters (110kg each) an immersion heater, some glass and wood. she felt heavy but it stopped all the squeaks and rattles from the interior trim! :)
