while we was on our camping trip lost my car keys (i belive they fell out of my pocket, when we were messing about in the bell boat?? on our way across keilder) they were for a v reg astra estate i have purchased,,luckly i didnt use my key fob to lock it (as the bloody thing didnt work) so a big thanx to my pal for the use of his aa card and a bigger thanx to the recovery truck who towed us all the way home!!
what i want to know is are these keys chipped,, will it need reprogramming, i know i have to go to the dealer to get one cut off my chassis number (i only got one key with the car) but i dont know if these are a (i think they are called) a transponder key!! any help appreciated lads n lasses

If its anything like a Corsa it will be I'm afraid. We had a Y reg one in the other day and the dealer gave us the wrong key, it would turn over but wouldnt start.

I don't think that you get this charge from the RAC. Joined them last week and managed to get them to reduce the cost on the phone. Could get £10 off the one year deal, with no Direct Debit. Went onto the DD deal and coaxed £5 off of that as well. Ended up £65 for the year for recovery as well.

after a bad experience with the AA (wheel bearing gone on a boat trailor, so first sent a astra van with no spare bearings on board, then a transit with a dolly who didn't even know we had a trailor, & eventually after 3-4 hours sent a lowloader) we've always stayed with the RAC

Ive also had a few bad experiences with the aa so much so that after nine years as a member i left and joined the rac.
