I took 3L out of mine, topped it up, ran it for half an hour, drained it and put the rest in... cheap flush :) don't forget to change the filter, I did it when I took the first 3L out.

I would go for 10/40 semi synthetic, I used Halfords own brand on my T5, its good quality oil too and as I change it every 6 months good value too. Its all too easy to get carried away with names on oil bottles too, remember to check the recommended oil for your car, iam going off an 850 T5 which is quite an old engine now and if you go sticking fully synthetic 0w oil in I rekon it would spring a leak somewhere and would be a bit too thin for that engine and its recommended to use 10/40 semi when it was new so that what I use, I have heard of people spending 50 quid on a gallon of top name oil like Mobil 1 etc thinking its gonna improve the performance only for the engine to start rattling and losing oil pressure and leaking, not good for it at all

I have only ever used Shell Ultra Helix Fully Synthetic. I believe it is 5W 40. And I change it every 5K miles. Anal or what??!

10/40W Magnatec (semi synthetiuc) is a good oil for the Pre ME7 throttle cable cars pre 1999 but 0-30 or 5-30 fully synthetic for newer models

I use Silkoline Pro S 5w30 and change it every 3k although it usually ends up being every 2k because I am paranoid about dirty oil... :cuckoo:
