Calling all trackdayers and wannabe trackdayers! We are running another club trackday at Oulton Park on Nov 4th. It will be the usual Trackaction-Online layout so we will be running an open pitlane on the International Circuit and keeping the numbers sensible so you'll get plenty of tracktime. We will also have free instruction available with our handpicked ARDS instructors and Xtreme photography will be there taking photos so you can see how good your car looks on track. This is the fourth year that we have run our season closer at Oulton and we are holding the same rate as last year so it's just £125 for a place but this year we are adding a club bonus with free spaces! For every five places we sell on here we will give a full refund to one driver! When you book a place there's a comments box at the end of the booking form, just put VOLVO in the box and a week before the event we will count up the number of entries and for every five that have booked one name will be drawn out of a hat and the lucky winner will be announced on this thread so you can all give them evil glances on the day  . If we can get ten together its two free spaces and so on. Oulton is a great track to drive and to get together with other club members so lets have a really good showing for this one. Bookings can be made at OUR SHOP, you don't need any discount code to book in this year but don't forget to fill in the comments box with VOLVO to get entered into the draw. Here's a few pictures from last years event - Image Image Image and a bit of recent video from one of our regulars there [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z53DcBaccHU]CLICKY[/ame] This is our fourth year of running our club trackdays at Oulton, 90% of the drivers are from our forum and the other clubs that we work with so if you fancy coming along or have any questions just post em up, we run novice friendly days so if it's your first time on track don't be shy! I've bumped up the thread from our Cadwell day in March so you can have a read of that if you think Volvos don't get out on track enough! Look forward to seeing some of you there! Steve H

Either way I am just saying a massive yes to this. This just the kinda thing. Cadwell was amazing fun - I just hope that a few peeps will come along. It would be amazing to see a dozen or so Oblobs zooming around! Hamish you coming?

I would strongly recommend some cut slicks wobbly - you should get a lot more out of the day. Just check your bearings after :D http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyo-R-888-225-45-17-Track-Day-Tyres-x-2-/300594996896?pt=UK_Cars_Tyres_RL&hash=item45fcdba6a0#ht_500wt_1156 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyo-R-888-225-45-17-Track-Day-Tyres-x-2-/300594996003?pt=UK_Cars_Tyres_RL&hash=item45fcdba323#ht_500wt_1156 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yokohama-048-225-45-17-Track-Day-Tyres-x-2-/300594994776?pt=UK_Cars_Tyres_RL&hash=item45fcdb9e58#ht_500wt_1156

Great to see such a good response so quickly to this, I knew you guys wouldn't let me down! This does look like being a popular day so I'd suggest that if anyone is thinking about booking that they do it sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

cant see me being there for this one. (a) coz I work weekends and (b) am trying to solve the Rear jump out problem with my car.. in process of replacing the suspension etc. just put on new Tires etc so Doubt with the money I will be spending on New Suspension and whatever else turns up in the Process that I will either have the car back on the road in time or have the money for this after spending on what its gonna cost to have the work done.. maybe the next one as I am a Track virgin and need to lose my Virginity.. hopefully not the an Armco or tree or something lol.!!!!

Well the 3 Volvoteers turned up to do battle with a damp Oulton Park - to say it was a bit greasy to start with was an understatement. But the sun did finally break through & Hamish, Lance & I were soon giving it large. Compared to Cadwell Park it has the distinct advantage of being reasonably easy to get to - being just off the M6 (Jnc 18). Cadwell was mountainous - like a roller coaster - but Oulton also offered its fair share of technical challenges. 2 chicanes & an awesome banked hairpin reminiscent of the carousel at the ring? Anyway - it took some getting good at. My best session was later in the afternoon - thanks to the pointers from the Instructor & Hamish. I even managed to master the mighty Druids corner - double apex right hander. I know that my brakes are not up to the task but can't justify putting on a BBK. Betsy held up really well. My instructor even remarked - "it goes well" - in almost surprised voice after our session. Bringing her home in one piece is always a big bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed my day out - I hope that more peeps will come with us. I am planning something awesome for my 40th Birthday (yes WD40) next year.

Car looks good in the pic Dave, Glad it was a good day. I'm hoping to get all the stuff sorted on the big sweed soon and maybe, wife permitting, get it on a track/strip day. Started saving for a remap ;). WD40 - lol :)

I hope that the next one will be better attended. I am supposed to put the copyright notice on all these photos - but I can't be bothered. These are all copyright of Xtreme Sports Photography
Glad you enjoyed, you should try combe next time, the T5's will romp there!!!
got to have a very good set up for Combe
From JohnnyT's video - it looks a little flat?
the track layout is flat yes, the track surface.........thats something else! lol can get to about 120/130 down the main straight, but in the braking zone its quite bumpy and you get lots of air! lots of air= no brakes and no steering!:( and the tyre wall isn't that far away!! just watch youtube for some examples of people getting it wrong you have to be brave round there! on a personal note, I didnt enjoy it and probrably wont bother going there again, but thats me.
