Had to buy myself a new Phone!

Time has come once more when another phone has reached the end of its useable life.
I had a Samsung (solid extreme) was supposed to be the strongest phone availale and indestructable. I have to say it is.... the only problem is the damn microphone doesnt work!!!
Well Vodaphone were a nightmare as I still have 14 months left on a 24 month contract despite being sure it was only 12 months in the first place, as a result when I asked about an upgrade they refusd point blank...never mind could be worse.
Then I was faced with do I purchase another cheap phone that may last 5 mintues like the last or do I take on another contract to get a decent phone? Well they both seemed ridiculous as cheap ones dont last and Im on an unlimited everything contract.
So I have forked out on what is apprenently called a blackberry, despite being convinced it was a tasty fruit apparently its also a phone as confimed by a funny Ronnie Corbeit sketch.
A Blackberry Curve 9300 which is apperently quite good... I have never used a phone for anything other than texting or telephoning people so the internet and e-mail features may prove a little confusing... what im trying to say is I may need help ;)
According to my sister who understands such technology I will be able to go on VPCUK on my phone! Watch out folks 24/7 Moose is in town.

I'm not saying anything, But were you up London a few weeks back? Lol. ;)
I have the Nokia N8, Cracking phone apart from little niggles like the messaging randomly puts capital letters in when using the predictive text.
No probs with internet usage though. :)

Being on my 4th Blackberry now (2 being replacements for faulty ones) best advice I can give you is don't drop it and don't turn the volume up too loud.
Very good at emails tho but tinter-web thingy is slow.
They will show VPCUK but be prepared to use the zoom feature to see anything.
Oh, you'll be signing in alot too.

To be honest I have absolutely no understanding of any of these damned things, I was simply told this would do internet and e-mail and thought "mmm cant be bad".
The iPhone seems so expensive, and I must admit having once used a touch screen kiosk at a railway station and failing to be able to select the route I desired, the idea of touchscreen doesnt appeal to me in the slightest.
What on earth is an Andriod? Sounds like something out of star-wars!

The Android phones (as far as I can gather) are just other manufacturers versions of the Iphone...albeit using a different operating system. Personaly the Iphone's touch screen is pretty damn good and not all that difficult to use (after all my twelve year old daughter can operate one)..

Haven't heard any bad reports about any of the HTC phones, Only good.
I would have got one myself but prefered the look of the N8.
Was tempted by an iPhone once, But my mates had most of the models and somethings always gone wrong with all of them :(

I have the htc wildfire, never been a fan of touch screen myself but even I found it so easy to use and plenty of good free apps with it being andriod.
Shame I smashed the screen on it yesterday, getting out the volvo with phone still on my lap. :(

Appologies if I've offended your delicate sensibilities.....I was merely trying to explain them in a basic fashion..:), never used an Android so I can't compare it with the goodness that is my iphone.

i have (and have had for 9 months now) a Blackberry Torch 9800. I must say...its the nuts! Very good! Touch screen etc etc. And, the best thing about it?.....Its not a sodding iPhone.
If you want a good idea of what to get, borrow an iPhone & go download an 'app'. must be one for that amongst all the useless apps.
My opinion?.....(sorry if i upset anyone), iPhones are toys for kids and blackberrys are tools for the user.

Seems I may well have made the wrong choice... see how I get on with it, probably not well but at least its an improvement over nobody being able to hear me!

The wife got given a 2 month old HTC HD2. Utterly awesome bit of kit fast, pretty, and nearly as big as an I-ponce, sorry, I-pad. She winds me up with it 'cos all she does with it is giggle saying "oooh look, it's got windscreen wipers" - It's gotta weather thingy that does things. She never uses any of it's features and barely takes it out of her bag.
Tinkered with those I-fone thingys and to be honest, If you wanna spend a fortune on something you'll barely use, Buy a fondu set from Harrods!
:)
