How much would I be looking at price wise? What should I be checking for? Looking at getting one as a car share with my brother. Not fussed about condition as long as it's legal and goes. Lol.

i had an s40 td for a little while and it was a bit of a nightmare.it was a 2002.think the older ones are better..
The engines themselves are pretty bullet proof being an 8 valve Renault unit with turbos possible being a weak point if the vehicle has been abused. The rear suspension being multi-link suffers from some bush wear in some of the link arms particularly the upper ones but these aren't particularly hard to obtain or replace but worth checking over especially if it's been used as a load lugger. My boss had an 02 plate one with fairly high miles on it and it was pretty reliable and fairly nippy for only 115 bhp !
Cheap insurance and tax as well..
