One of my pet hates are words that are not spelt properly for instance can no-one spell the four letter word "lose"? why does everyone put an extra o in it to make it loose? i.e baggy, ill fitting, sorry but it seems this disease is catching lol:cussing:

Oooh! a new rant thread! here goes... I hate people who moan about being caught bu static speed cameras - they're bright yellow, there are warning signs everywhere and there is a speed limit, if you get caught speeding you get a fine! end - of. Next...
People moaning on facebook about the new facebook been 5h1t. If you dont like it dont use it.
mine is people who write cryptic comments on Facebook (ie "oh no, not again!"), purely because they want the attention & know someone's going to ask "what's up love?". If you've got a problem either write about it & hope someone cares or shut up, don't just give clues

Mrs MRP used to be a Tech. and C.A.D. teacher and her spelling is awful. When I moan at her about it and remind her of her previous vocation, she says that they didn't mark the kids on spelling, they just had to have the subject and answers right. And they wonder why we have some of the lowest literacy figures in Europe!

This is always a forum can of worms! I too (to, two?) hate poor English (it's our first language after all!) but I can't add up so the maths brigade would have a field day watching me scoring darts! Oh - the other really, really basic primary school English that is frequently misused is there and their. Sorry - the rant's starting. That and putting apostrophes into plurals. I was out last night and clocked numerous food stalls selling 'curry's'. Etc. Must stop.

Depends really, if its on something official or a business sign, etc then yes the spelling really should be correct. But on a forum or something, then who cares if the spellings not correct. As long as its readable, does it matter?

Post 415246 by M-R-P on 2011-10-08 14:07:00

A real peeve for me is when people (usually over 50) feel the overwhelming urge to ad an "s" to the end of the names of companies. e.g. Lidle(s) tesco(s) etc. READ THE BLOODY SIGN STUPID! grrr!

I hate when people use shortened text message words on forums and facebook, etc. Words used in text messages were shortened to save the amount of characters used in a message as there is a limit per text message. But there is no need to do this on forums as there is no limit to what you can put on there, it just looks messy.
lol dunno it justs winds me up that us brits can't even spell a four letter word, i'm always correcting my missus much to her annoyance lol
I see it a lot at work and emails coming from managers. I often tend to correct them much to their displeasure. Feck it, spell it correctly, its not rocket science.
