A few pics of my t5 estate in turquise sort of bluey colour... This is my 2nd 850 in this colour i had a n/a petrol auto gearbox one before this one and before that a 440si.. Took these pics today as its been raining or cars been dirty before now.. Car as first seen. Image Car now after being cleaned.. Image rear pic with exhaust box of some kind or the other fitted which needs a bit of modding to fit a bit better than it is now. Image Image Image even the seats arent to bad with just a little cracking on drivers side. Image Image not to bad for the miles either Image forge dump valve fitted by old owner.. Image even the cd auto changer works ok Image niceish 18" alloys with a bit of kerbing but look ok from a few metres away Image grooved discs already fitted which are pretty new by the looks of it with no wear at all.just needs matching discs on the back now. Plans for the future are. rehang the exhaust which will need cutting and rewelding to make it fit better. rear shock mounts as both are spliting making a clonk at the back end. 1 rear light has crazed clear side repeaters. A rechip if it hasnt been done already. fit a boost gauge. possibly a performance air filter maybe a cone filter. lowering springs is also a possible

Post 421732 by antz on 2011-11-04 23:12:56

looking good! Some V70 rear lights make the 850's look a lot nicer as they have the clear indicator panel instead of orange! Direct replacement too :)

Post 421744 by Wobbly Dave on 2011-11-04 23:47:38

Nice colour - nasty wheels.

Post 421745 by merc85 on 2011-11-04 23:55:39

I reckon if you can drop it and the wheels not rubbing, it will look the nut's. She looks generaly well cared for. Re hang that exhaust and she will be spot on. Looking good buddy, Oh Bigger disc's they look like 280mm, you really could benifit from 302mm's. Good up grade. Car is looking Good mate.

Post 421748 by bigrotch on 2011-11-05 00:14:47

looks nice and straight mate deffo rear v70 lights re hang the box... has it still got the self leveling rear shocks, if so you will have change them befor you put lowering springs on it. ive got a 2nd hand pair of rear shock mounts if ya interested pm me looking good tho fella

Post 421752 by Jamest5r on 2011-11-05 00:25:29

The exhaust would be lovely tucked up proper but not sure about the wheels but that's just my taste :), and defo need clear rear lights :) http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38434 :)

Post 421759 by M-R-P on 2011-11-05 01:16:05

Very nice, v70 lights or not. again, rehang exhaust and I'm with dave on the wheels I'm afraid, Less is more mate ;)

Post 421782 by jayeastanglia on 2011-11-05 08:53:59

I have a pair of v70 clear lights in my watch list on ebay as had seen they was a direct fit and they would go in with chrome bulbs so i dont get that fried egg look in them same with the clear sides.. no hasnt got self leveling rear shocks just standard bilstein ones.. the wheels do rub a little on full lock at the front and did rub a little on inner splash panel(thats been sorted already)

Post 423373 by jayeastanglia on 2011-11-09 15:53:47

rear lights fitted today. before. Image After Image and then got a set of clear side repeaters from the same car.. Image also done the rear top mount at the weekend..the state of the old ones no wonder it knocked so bad..nice and quiet from knocks just a squek from the rear boot door which is caused by a few broken plastic clip things.. Image

Post 423383 by claymore on 2011-11-09 16:33:00

Looks good, just needs hitting with the stick, and maby paint the wheels all black

Post 423397 by jayeastanglia on 2011-11-09 16:47:28

yeah i also agree the wheels need painting black as i am not 100% sure on the silver rim bit..may do them as got to fit 2 tyres to the back ones soon as they are down to 3mm of tread.. and the calipers also need repainting body colour instead of the red..

Post 423419 by daza-b on 2011-11-09 17:32:51

sorry to say i agree on the wheels, maybe chop them in for some R alloys?? exhaust will look good nice and tucked as you said, ill have a set of rear V70 light clusters up for grabs in a couple of weeks if needed :) otherwise good looking car

Post 423445 by T4Rick on 2011-11-09 18:35:28

I really like the car even the fact is blue as above not to keen on the wheels but its not my car.The interior looks well better than mine lol

Post 423649 by jayeastanglia on 2011-11-09 21:58:09

Interior is pretty good condition would of liked full leather with electric seats,I can always fit a full leather seats at a later date, there are a few deep scratches on the body and 1 or 2 minor dings from careless car doors..but still looks great from a few steps back..This is my second 850 of this colour but the other one was a non turbo and a auto...I like the wheel style but would paint them in a few weeks or maybe even change them for 17ich wheels in black. And calipers will be done turquise to sort of match the body.. hope to be at the next essex meet on sunday 13 nov..

If your talking about Titans (850 T-5R) or Volans (850 R) then they are 17's if it's Satellites (V70R AWD Phase II) then they can be 16's or 17's and the Pegasus wheels (S60/V70R and pretty much any other modified Volvo) can either be 17's or 18's in genuine form or as much as 19's in replica form...

(Peg's and Titans are a very similar style of wheel, Titan's being the wheel originally fitted to his car when new)

Image fitted today got the sticker off justin..note to anyone else going to fit one warm it before hand.. And pracing moose stickers below the side repeaters. Image and had to fit 2 tyres as 2 were getting a bit low and 1 was a bit flat spotted due to a slight bulge on the tread area...vibration free now as well and not much weight on each rim.

Post 447217 by jayeastanglia on 2012-01-09 13:40:44

1 of these would be nice as well for the rear seat..if they fit. Image

Post 447316 by AndysR on 2012-01-09 20:11:02

I know it's slightly biased but the 850R seats are a world apart from the standard seats more supportive and also comfortable at the same time :) New seats look nice all fitted in place, have you fitted the rears yet?

Post 447380 by jayeastanglia on 2012-01-09 21:27:53

yeah fitted the rears already sat in the back myself just to see how comfy they were over the old seats they feel much softer but hold you in place ok wife didnt complain when i went round a roundabout a bit to fast earlier today did the same a few days ago and she sort of slid about on the old seats and whined a little she even commented these new seats are nice, she has already set the passenger memory to how she likes the seat, and she still wont drive it(A big bonus)

Post 455263 by jayeastanglia on 2012-01-27 18:12:28

Been buzy today,-40mm spring set making it look a bit better. Before.. Image After. Image has lowered the front a bit but rear is about 20mm lower, Fronts took about 1 hour each side and rear springs took about 15mins each side, except i also did a lower arm on drivers side as the bushes had persihed and the metal sleve had corroded to the bolt which made that fun to remove. also a recirc valve blanking plate and hid kit on the projector beam dip beam lights (yeah i know it will fail its mot on a technicality of not having self levalling lights) set them up on beam tester and was ok after a bit of adjusting...got a powerflex engine steady mount rubber's to do as well as tracking over the weekend.. A short vid of the exhaust sound and wastegate noise with a few pops on the overrun..it did pop before doing the plate and seems to boost a bit better. Post 455329 by The Flying Moose on 2012-01-27 19:34:59

Looks and sounds well mate. The 40mm drop makes the biggest different cosmetically by far. Completely transforms the looks and will probably improve the handling a little too. Just need an 850R bumper now. Theres one on ebay but at £185 its a tad expensive.

A bit more done today.. 1 engine top mount, fitted both the bulkhead mount and engine one as both were split the bigger one actually had broken in half.. A bit of patience and warmth got the bushes in(it was 1 degree outside today so was glad i was in my workshop with space heater blowing hot air,Handy old space heater also got the small bush out by me leaving the bracket sitting on the outlet of the heater soon burnt the plastic off making fitment really easy) Before. Image After once fitted. Image Image Can really hear it road now cant wait for next mod metal inlet pipe is my next thing to do.... Handles like its on rails now with the springs and tracking done,Wife says its like a rally car now so I think shes glad to have the nice seats fitted as well..

Had to fit new tyres on my car as the fronts were getting a bit low(they had less than 1mm on inner edge due to tracking being out before i had it)so new tyres on £130 later for the pair.. Had some blue paint so painted the calipers as i never liked the red that someone had painted. Image painted the inner part of the front discs and rear discs black to smaten them up a bit next on list of things to buy is rear discs as they are pretty groved so will do them when pads gets a bit lower and do a 302 disc conversion on the front at the same time.

Post 465804 by jayeastanglia on 2012-02-22 19:17:40

yeah the recirc valve is blanked off and currently no DV but I do have a take off on the top intercooler pipe for a DV as old owner fitted a forge DV but still had the standard one in place..also got a smooth alloy inlet pipe from air filter to turbo..but as a temporary measure mainly as I am doing a 400 miles round trip while moving house I have refitted the standard air box back on,I havent noticed any power diffrence between the 2
Yeah mapped by HLM and standard bcs and its boosting about 12psi so may get upped a little in the future if I can but not silly high...
mine only boosted to 12 psi after a hlm remap, ended up being cos of a turbo on its way out

Post 470202 by jayeastanglia on 2012-03-04 21:52:23

mine uses no oil at all in 2500miles and no smoke so my actuator may be a bit weak but a bigger turbo may be the way forward nothing to big and laggy maybe a 16t which i hope will give it a bit more go without being to laggy especially round here with short slip roads and tightt corners and silly subarus which like sitting on my tow bar till i give it a squeze on the throttle(I so like doing that my mpg is down to 16mpg..)

Post 470214 by jayeastanglia on 2012-03-04 21:59:15

3rd and 4th gear acceleration which seems ok and boost gauge goes over much further than before,my aftermarket boost gauge may not be accurate either but goes to 12psi..look at the average mpg which was reset before i came up to hlm and i have now done about 150-200 miles since..
