Add yourself to the list! plus what car you're driving.
If you're just meeting at Scotch Corner or Carlisle that's fine, put it on the list too.

A dude in his 2CV stopped in the FAST LANE on the way back.... pulled up, hazards on sitting in the car, not even pulled across into the Central reservation.
I had to brake sharply to give the guy alongside me space to pull into my lane... madness. Good job I was cruising at 65 as it was around a sweeping bend and you really didn't have long to react once you'd seen it.
What is it about Christmas that makes people drive badly?
Maybe he doesn't do long trips often.
Post 440849 by smithson007 on 2011-12-27 23:31:46
There's just generally a lot of bad drivers about.
Especially black Octavian drivers that don't know when to give up. Lol.

I don't even know where he went in the end. Didn't see him again after a passed him for the final time. He wasn't going to move over on the dual carriageway untill he saw a was nailed to his back bumper.
Post 440855 by t5_monkey on 2011-12-27 23:40:17
What was he doing... was he wanting a race like?
What gets me is when I cruise at 65... u get someone slipstreaming you on a quiet M-way... about 2 car lengths behind! You pull in they pull in, you slow down and they STILL won't overtake you.

Was that down the back roads when we set off from tan hill or on the way to York. Oh I really hope its not the turbo that's on its way out :-(
There was some daft lass in a black Citroen vt or something that was peeing me off. She kept trying to overtake but couldn't quite make it. Especially on the slip road for some reason

No he was doing around 55-60 in the outside lane wasn't even overtaking anything just pulled straight over into that lane as soon as it opened up to dual and wouldn't move over. I wasn't going to undertake him even though I rightly could have.
Post 440865 by t5_monkey on 2011-12-27 23:52:23
Numpty.. and yeah Hazium get your turbo checked I saw it puffing a fair bit of smoke too.
If it breaks perfect excuse for a 19T or a dustbin sized Garrett :)

The 307 was in the ditch as we pulled off the a1. Looks like they had pulled off the road and just sank into the ditch. There was a recovery truck on the slip road I indicated to go round it.
Could well be your turbo on its way out but like monkey said some smoke seemed to come from underneath the car.

I'm only messing really, and it's my way of complimenting you on the look of the motor. I love my silver T5, and I've only had it 5 weeks or so. However, I do love the saffy R's.

Thanks. She's still needs a bit of work yet. Going to try and get wheels refuted and new exhaust done before morecambe meet.
Going to do my PVC and rear breaks on Thursday when a get back from York.

I'm the same really. Wheels need a refurb, but I've had the cambelt, PCV and a service done. Other little bits to do, but it takes time, money and patience!
The car seems basically good though, and for 5-6,000 miles/year as my second car, I think it will be great.
The 307 was in the ditch as we pulled off the a1. Looks like they had pulled off the road and just sank into the ditch. There was a recovery truck on the slip road I indicated to go round it.
Could well be your turbo on its way out but like monkey said some smoke seemed to come from underneath the car.
Yeh I think the smoke coming from underneath was the large puddles hitting brake caliper and the steam coming off them. Think another one has gone.
I think them two lasses in that citreon vt were after you two.
Ha ha, Possibly.
Dam. A must have missed all this when I took off and left you lot.
I saw the 306 ditched, one of the signs flashed up as we drove under it saying there was an obstruction on the slip road.
Numpty.. and yeah Hazium get your turbo checked I saw it puffing a fair bit of smoke too.
If it breaks perfect excuse for a 19T or a dustbin sized Garrett :)
Yeh, bit cheesed off with it but its been like it for a while now. Might go for one of those ones that gmain has. £389 at moment.

If its from under the car, have checked its not the oil return pipe seal, that will spray a fine mist of oil.

Ahh good point, there is an oil leak coming from somewhere so looking at it it could be that. If it is then its going to be cheaper. Fingers crossed.
how much is it costing for you to get wheels done?
I'm hoping I can get them done for £240 but Ive got a feeling the fella that gave me this price a while back has packed in and ain't doing it no more. He gives a set of wheels to run on to while he's doing them.

Could well be Sumet like that because it was just while you were pulling and was defiantly under the middle of the car.

Post 440999 by smithson007 on 2011-12-28 13:31:00

Post 441027 by t5_monkey on 2011-12-28 15:05:23
chameleon coatings near Glasgow airport.
Shop around - £240 for 4 is on the high side - if you've got a local modified and cruise forum they will know where's cheap and good.

Rods seem to bend quite easily with too much boost. Im running around 1.3 bar.
Whacked all the boost in when she spun up in 2nd thanks to a dodgy actuator.
