"Chancellor George Osborne is expected to announce to MPs that he will legislate to separate retail banking from more risky investment activities."
Some action to prevent the insanely dangerous sex offender that is the financial sector from our personal savings deposits.

yup.. say bye bye to " free " banking.. although lets be honest who actually has a "free" bank account anyway ?
Even so it is a bit like closing the door after the horse has bolted.
Sadly its not financial sense, its simply a minor political ploy. Financial sense would be to demand our money back from the banks.... NOW. Let them fail, guarantee all our money, and we will find other banks to put our hard earned in therby solving the other banks liquidity problem without having to be bailed out by the tax payer.
If they wrote off the debts owed to the failed bank as well it would inject a MASSIVE amount of money into the retail and housing sectors ( imagine suddenly having no mortgage, no personal loans, no credit card debt, no over draft ) and all that costs a fraction of the amount we have given the banks ( i say given because we wont get our money back ever)
The RBS made 2 billion pound profit april to september this year.. how much did the tax payer get back ( bearing in mind we own almost 80% of the RBS) ...... not a single penny. How much of that profit will be transfered to santandare when they complete the buy out ? All of it.
Sorry but this is just another silly political headline grabbing " look how tough we are on banks" statement from our political masters. ( they stopped being our servants a long time ago)
I'd say vote for change.... but you have no options.. cons.. lib dems... labour.... they are all the same, corrupt, self serving, egotistical, power hungry, self preserving scum.
ahh thats better rant over !
