Well People 1st Meet of the New Year, Come on down for another Great Meet, I appreciate monies could be a little tight especially after xmas, I can relate to that having 4 Kids lol.
Althoug my car is /will be in bits as from tomorrow, i'm hoping with her new 3" front pipe and rebuilt turbo she will be at this meet.
Kingsford-G has bought a MINT s70r Manual in Saffron, Which has been rica'd so that will be on show also if my car is not ready i'm hoping to catch a lift somehow :)
More the merrior perhaps a Good time to discuss further develops/ideas to make the essex section of vpcuk.org go forward into 2012.
Lets make this another Great turn out!

mm leather interior u getting me thinking now and blowing my spare cash for this month.looks so nice in rotchs t5 as well as mercs leather.....
I will be there in my much more noisy t5 but not sure if i can meet up as usual in colchestor for the cruise down as meant to be at heybridge at 10ish....

At the moment yes I probably would take monthly payments!! I need rid of the bloody things before the mice get them.
If somebody wants them, ill bring them... Essex meet only special at £100 for them.

already been commented on by someone the other day it looked quite smart for a older car by 1 of the chavvy drivers at work.. still think it needs lowering on the front by 20-30mm but worried it will rub even more than it does now..

Door trims will fit the same although the R has electric rears. If the door card colour is the same as yours you could always swap the leather/alcantara insert over to your existing door trims as that is a direct fit thus keeping the manual rear winders without having to cut holes in the R door trims ;)

might have sorted some leather inserts but got to go check if they are correct colour i want as scrappy says he thinks they are dark blue....oh yeah am having the seats just got to load them in my car at essex meet and bring them home without the wheels scraping on my arches(I am taking out my rear seat /weight on saturday sometime so thats one less seat to have in my car

The clips are a pain on the rear make sure u press the borrom part of clip in then lever up from top of clip otherwise u will snap the clip... Then lean rear seat forward about 5-10 degrees and pull hard towards u so the cylinder in the seat comes out of seated pos and lift out. Do the same for the smaller rear seat aswell.. They are pretty heavy so becarfull

As above, i've rebuilt the turbo, Should be along for the Meet in the Beast, although i'm back to running a bloomin cat as my 3" down pipe came with it lol
Car seems to be just as brutle, just the throttle response a very tiny bit slower cus of the cat. 3rd Gear is still awesome as my vid lol.

Thanx Gav.I don`t mind driving there just wanted to start work earlie on sunday.Passat costing me over £400 on bits now,waiting for an oil pump from tps as mpd sent me wrong one.I have no idea y and what caused that damage,even the oil pump internals have groves and marks,one tappet worn through.If that happens again only cure is to run it into a brick wall.The thing is there is not even a tiny bit of sludge in the engine it actually like a brand new as always used quantium LL3 pd oil every 10k.I might actually come for a couple hours to see the boys,if so will let u know might meet up again and drive down there.

Give us a call mate if you wanna drive down there.
I can get oil pumps to. Your's was a late engine with the less popular engine code, which is why they have struggled.

Turbo Seems very good, Slight noise at 1st until the oil got round and all seems good now. (i'm a pesimist lol) but she's all quiet now.
Boosts a Proper 16 psi now, all the way round the clock which is Good, I have turned the boost down untill the Turbo is run in for a while.
Horrible job tbh, wouldnt rush to do another, and i am tiring of the effort and work i've put into my car since ive had her.
She is/seems quite quick now tho lol

base bit came out easy but the back bit isnt going so well the clips came out easily but the hindge bit wont come out.. let someone look at the meet tomoro then(merc will know how they are meant to come out)

Welcome to my world mate.The s70 left me skinned and vw just finished me off and missed one for taxi insurance.Got all the engine work done falshed,new oil went to drive out and the poxi e/h/brake won`t release one side.All good fun so far one week no work.Considering going out tonight for begging lol I don`t mind yr company.

Id be looking around the engine bay as thats all what been disturb latly, WHat about the fusable link off the starter motor, also on the early 855's like mine the wiring to the ecu box itself gives agro.
And being low down also get wet when it rains etc

yep and if u ring round 850 t5 will also go on a classic policy now most insurers class a classic once it gets to 15 years but some are still at 20 years before a classic.....
oh yeah sorry to anyone i didnt say bye to had to be back in ippy by 4pm( got back at 3.57pm) and i got held up in a accident at kelvedon due to a micra deciding to have a play with the crash barrier and the tree's(looked a fatal when i went past as a plastic sheet was over drivers seat and ambulance was sat with no flashing lights on)
Will be my last essex meet next month(dont forget the dick turpin is closed till 10 feb) I am moving 28feb to redditch but will pop back in the summer for a few essex meets and will hopefully have a faster more powerful t5 by then..

Thanks all, it was a bit of a spur of the of the moment desicion to come for a drive and burger....good to see a retro vehicle so my V40 wasn't the odd one (barring the owner).
Nice drive managing to hit 35.0MPG by the time I got home..

The suspension on yours has made a massive difference and it does transform the car, your car goes very well and the power is smooth and constant through the whole rev range with no sign of it backing off at top revs.......just wants a tad more boost ;)

i raced one of those once off a roundabout onto a dual carriageway he tried coming up the inside so i floored it and he couldnt get ahead of me at all i was running 22psi he had to give in at 100 odd as a car got in his way, i felt chuffed

Thanks to Niles for showing us the boost pipes that he sorts out, they look like a very good quality and make the car sound awesome!! I liked the way that he explained the noise it makes before he showed us lol, that did make me laugh.

Cheers Andy, the car is actually running better now and has released a little more potential since yesterday!
Regarding cornering, its taken a while to build my confidence back to actually throw the car around abit since the accident this time last year... another reason I dont think ill be any good at Cadwell.

Cheers Merc, it does need a bloody good clean and polish but unfortunately I am rubbish at both. I do try to polish but I often dont have enough time to commit to a "thorough job".
Believe it or not the car was gleaming before the mornings escapade, well it washed put it that way :)
Had a clio engine in it as well..
And a added bonus I got my seats and with a bit of help from flying moose we got the rear backs out.. next on list is a set of volvo (maybe titans)17" 5 spokes.
