Howdy,
I am having a bit of bother with my PC and HDMI. Currently set up with an ATI HD4650 and connected by a DVI-HDMI adaptor, HDMI lead into my HC amp and that through to TV Basically so it outputs 5.1
Now, when I boot up the PC (TV and amp are on) it takes about 5 mins before a picture comes through. Any comp boffins any ideas as to what that is and how I can sort it?
Cheers

It may be because there's something between the gfx card and the tv. Have you got the 11.12 drivers?

When it finally pops up, does it look like its been on for all that time or does it look like it only just booted?
Try bypassing the amp to rule it out, then go to ATI.com and download latest drivers. There may be a setting in the catalyst control centre that needs a tweek.

When it comes on its just at the password screen, so it has gone past the boot up. I will check bypassing the amp and see

I have a 5770 which uses the same control software so if you need me to check any settings, just ask;)

I think, using the dvi to hdmi adaptor may be confusing it a bit. try one of these if you can spare the cash...

Epic performance and it makes dvd look like blu-ray with the right tweaks. ;)
Glad you got it sussed.

Yeh it was supposed to have HDMI when I got it but had 2x DVI instead. That looks ok for the price.

It's 25% slower than mine but nearly half the price! (paid £149 for mine when it first came out, about £90 now)http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=394&Itemid=72
