Hi guys & girls What with the forever rising fuel prices and the fact that I hate using my car for driving back and forward to work, I though I would join the crowd and get myself a second car (run a round) So the big question is what car should I choose, well after many hours/days looking i decided to get something that I know how to repair myself and know in and out. The car in question is a Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia, 1986 on a c reg. Picked it up in December last year for the tidy sum of £500 quid. A few pictures I took today seeing as the weather was ok.... Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image The car has covered a massive 47,000 miles from new hence why it's still on the road and not dust in a scrap yard somewhere. Since buying the car I have given it a good clean/tidy up and a major service and general going over (with a BIG thanks to Andy and Merc for helping me along the way)

looks great Jim. An old friend of mine had a Black orion Ghia. Nice little car. Yours looks in good condition. Sure you'll enjoy the trip to work and back. And...as a bonus, the orions were quite nippy. however, when you jump back into your S70 you'll really realise how much faster it is.

Looks good and takes me back in time.......... Not wanting to give my age away, but I served petrol at a garage in 85 before self service, and it was just under £2 a gallon. We only used the diesel pump for HGV and very, very rarely for a car. Memories...................
mate that looks mint for the money,,,,,love it
It's far from mint but it's pretty dam tidy for the age and being a Ford.
How is it to drive ? :)
Drives fine, no power steering or abs but I'm uesd to that from my old one I had. You can tell that its a light car and does give that go kart type feeling when cornering ;) I'm looking to freshen up the suspension and change all the bushes with poly bushes as they are rather old and need it, it will also make the car more fun!! ;)

My old Orion used to have a high lift cam and four branch manifold with a good rolling road setup to match, went pretty well for what it was :)

I like it, driving it reminds me of my old one. Does make you appreciate the Volvo but it's still a great little car in its own right and sounds superb after its coming together with a drill :)
