Hi all, bought a S60R on Saturday, and am absolutely loving it. Unfortunately my wife generally has the car during the week, as working on building sites, I don't want it getting covered in crap, but will get to play at the weekend :wink:
Just a quick question, the cambelt change service is due, and I was wondering whether it's worth getting the water pump changed at the same time.
Anyway, I've only got a couple of pics, but will post some more shortly.
Yes these photos were taken at work, but I only took it in to show it off. :cool:

For the sake of £50-60 extra would u skip doing it? `cos if it needs doing later its a false economy.

That was my thinking, but the garage have quoted an extra £175 to supply and fit it, whilst the service including cambelt change is only £260. Would it be worth supplying the pump myself? and would this one be o.k.:

Welcome to the forum and what a lovely car. Perfect colour combination. It wasn't until someone posted the presentation video for the R series cars that I realised that the interior colour of your car is achieved using natural leather colours without the need of any dye... It therefore ages better and doesn't show the wear so quickly, so they say :)

Hi Rik, thanks. I think we both prefer it to the Datsun, it's quicker, got more toys, and the handling's more predictable. We'll be taking it to Trax, I want to see what it'll do 0-60 :wink: , but hopefully we'll be at some Volvo meets before that.

You can't beat the choicest cuts of Dale Winton lol.
For the past 3 years I've taken my Ford Cougar to Ford Fair where I've beaten all the others (that have taken part) in the 0-60 sprint test. I look forward to pitting the Volvo up against some similar machinery.:D

Very warm welcome to VPC. The perfect colour and interior combination as already mentioned.
Reference the water pump, personally I would change it. The cambelt if I remember rightly is at 80k intervals on the S60R so under most circumstances its not a job that will be done again for at least 5 years to the average motorist.
That firstline pump will be fine, infact firstline make good components. If you were to supply a belt too I would recommend either genuine volvo or a gator belt.

S60R will great great times just make sure you have cash in the wallet for a new clutch and other bits :)
